Yummy Donuts — Restaurant in Happy Valley

The donuts are very good! I give full stars for the donuts themselves, but they need to work on cleanliness and efficiency if they want to stay in business.

They wore gloves to get the donuts, but then, left on those same gloves while dealing with payments and other things which basically defeats the purpose of gloves. It would be better to use the little paper to grab donuts than to leave on the same dirty gloves the whole time.

They also didn't have tasks divided up efficiently. One person was building boxes, taking payment, getting donuts, and getting coffee while another person was just asking people what donut they wanted. Build the boxes the day before and have them ready in advance. I could go on, but it was basically a mess of inefficiency.

I really want to like this place because the donuts are very good, so if they improve next time I go in, I will...

FINALLY a local donut shop with the kind of glorious raised donuts we were missing... and excellent fritters. Apple fritter had nice chunks of apple, crispy, tasty glaze. So happy to have this shop in Happy Valley. Definitely be back... for reference, Voodoo is simply too much for us, way too sweet and our opinion their donuts have little flavor (a lot of color, little flavor). Coco Donuts is nice, but too understated. Completely non-fans of Krispy Kreme, find their donuts also completely tasteless. This is the wonderful happy place in between. Plus, they're open later than many donut shops. We raised our kids in San Diego... and maybe it's a surfer thing... but there were many donut shops open until midnight. We'd often make a late night donut run. Here most places we've found close midday. This shop is at least open until 5pm which...

The doughnuts are great. Everything else is a disaster. I've been in twice, a few days after opening and a couple of weeks later. The staff still can't answer questions. They use the same gloves to grab doughnuts and then cash you out only to turn around and grab the next order with the same gloves on. The seating area is dirty and cluttered. The display case is empty of food but contains dirty trays and crumbs. The racks don't have tags. And, they don't have bags. I really don't want or need a huge box for two doughnuts.
