La Mexicana Bakery — Restaurant in Harlingen

The cookies are amazing, I just had a small issue a few days ago, I called in and asked if they had biscuits and they said yes but at this time they are out but they will have some made by 5pm ready to pick up. They said the biscuits will be out in 5 minutes so I waited almost 40 minutes for the biscuits to be done. Finally they came out with a fresh batch of biscuits and let me just say fresh hot out of the oven biscuits are worth the wait.

Delicious bread!!! Very affordable and get this they accept debit cards, I mean who carries cash these days, right. When I visited Harlingen from Dallas one day their debit card machine wasn't working, the young man had bagged my sweet bread said no problem sir, pay me next time. Wow, I was in Harlingen for a few weeks and so when I returned I told him to charge me the money owed plus my new purchase. Love this place, their generosity and always a smile on...

Sweet bread is perfect I paid cash but she short changed me and when I asked for my change she said that if I was going to make a big deal about about 79 cents so I smiled at her and asked her if they gave sweet bread away here she laughed at me and said it's a business they sell it to make money... needless to say I'd would rather drive from harlingen tx all the way to San Juan tx "37 min" then to buy and get short...
