A safe space for neurodivergents like myself. A beautiful environment. If you appreciate the negative space this is the place. They have so many drink options. We had the margarita and it was really really really good. I'm not a drinker myself but I would imagine a seasoned person would like it here as well. The servers are really awesome, kind, and empathetic 🫶. Me and my spouse really enjoy it here and will be coming back..
Update 01/31/25: Returning back to my comfortable spot, I would recommend Chile Cayote if you like a "take me to the beach" kind of drink(Tequila Pineapple Dark Cane Sugar) and the Carajillo(Licor 43 Espresso Chocolate) if you like coffee (extreme coffee taste which is something I like, not so bitter if you like bitter like me.) Great ambiance and great music as always.
Update 04/05/25: Had some Food from Malaquite recently on a Sunday Brunch. They are a great pop up that goes around. You gotta check on the Bandera Instagram to see when they are here. This place is my favorite go in Harlingen. Lovely people and Great...
Read moreI would probably come here everyday if the staff were to provide better customer service. Also feel the energy get worse when I hit the no tip option the barista had me put my own lid on my coffees 😂 * ok then I’ll just greet myself out too. No ,sense in leaving a 20% tip on $12 dollar coffees for $2.20 tip for them to be rude to me and me struggled to open the door by myself with two coffees.. no thanks. I tip well at restaurants, food delivery, but find it uncomfortable, unnecessary, and get an entitlement attitude from the baristas. They need to improve on customer service and, exclude the tipping option. I worked at restaurants before without a tip option. Think it created a better service for customers because I had to be nice regardless and, my mood would stay the same towards my customers. I think a lot of places are doing the tip option and it’s really making the workers ONLY be nice and provide customer service if they’re getting something extra out of it… which in return only hurts...
Read moreBandera is definitely up there with coffee houses I have visited in cities like San Francisco Madrid, and even Los Angeles where I used to live for 25 years. The coffee is some of the best. The look of it is quite inviting. Everything is great except for one thing They let whoever is working at the register play whatever music they like and as a result at least 50% of the time or more it’s some young guy that plays heavy metal with people screaming as if they are summoning dark demons from the nether regions. I love all kinds of music but not literal screaming at a high decibel volume when I’m trying to do work on my laptop. When I talked to the person at the register, they said well people don’t complain, but I bet if you took a survey more than half would ask for something a little bit more relaxed. So if you’re deaf or have an expensive pair of beats headphones then I guess this...
