We used to frequent Las Casuelas as a family and really enjoyed the atmosphere and their food. But recently, something has changed (and it has nothing to do with CV19). We visited several months ago and again last week.
As usual, the waitstaff was friendly and helpful and attentive. I always appreciate that and let them know! 👍🏼
Their prices have always been fair & reasonable. And their servings are generous. It helps when I'm taking my whole family out to dinner or lunch; especially with three growing boys!
But the last couple of times we've been there, the food was hardly warm. It seemed to taste OK, but it wasn't hot... not even "really warm." I did alert the waiter and asked him to please let the cook and manager know that the food was not being kept hot in the kitchen.
Both times, most of my family felt queasy and ill a few hours later, after getting home. I'm absolutely certain it's because they don't keep their food hot enough to be safe! We will not be returning anytime soon.
They need to self-correct this issue or they may find themselves in trouble with the health department for making...
Read moreI love eating at this restaurant. The wait staff are amazing. They make you feel like family. Like if you're going to go eat at your Abuela's house on a Sunday. I recommend their menudo, caldos, and shrimp cocktails. Their salsas is just perfectly made. The food is always made fresh. And the service is fast. My granddaughter loves her Texana plates. Which is cheese enchiladas. She gets the adult plate, not child's plate. And what I love about their wait staff. Is that they go above and beyond to accommodate. For instance, whichever wait staff we have for that day we go to dine in. They will go back in to the kitchen and make my 8 month old grandson his own personal mashed potatoes 🥔 . Just so he can dine with the rest of the family. Las Cazuelas has the best wait staff. I highly recommend this restaurant. We actually go every...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant, and while the food was undeniably delicious, I found myself disappointed with a key aspect of the experience: the water. Here in the valley, tap water has a distinctive and unpleasant flavor, and unfortunately, that's exactly what this restaurant serves. For the prices they charge, I expected at least filtered water and ice.
My entire family agreed—the tap water's taste is off-putting, and it detracted from an otherwise enjoyable meal. If you're sensitive to water flavor, you might want to bring your own bottle or stick to other beverages.
That said, the food deserves high praise. Every dish we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. If they could address the water issue, this place would be much closer to perfect.
In short, go for the food—but...
