Food was horribly bland and tasted like nothing. They call it a cafeteria, but they didn't tell me it was based on that of a prison. The fish had absolutely no seasoning as well as the mashed potstoes. The only item that was good was the bread. The catfish i had supposedly had a sauce on it, but they barely drizzled on a tiny bit. The "crawfish" macaroni had ONE absolutely TINY piece in the whole cup. Next issue is the price. I understand that fish is expensive, but 15.99 for one plate? And don't get me STARTED on the shrimp cocktail. 12.99 for a small glass. in what world is that fair pricing. This was the closest I have ever been on demanding a refund. The only redeeming factor here is that the service was nice. He was very respectful and helpful. Atmosphere was just that of a school, I suppose. All in all, this was probably the worst food I've had in a couple months, and that's saying something. With all due respect to the workers and the cooks, BUT DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE EXPECTING GOOD FOOD...
Read moreIt had been a while since I had been to the Luby"s on Business 77, Harlingen, Tx. I had a birthday gift card for $25.00. I had the worker serve me a salad, but I noticed there were at least 10 to 12 flies in that area. After she gave it to me I proceeded in line, but when I got to my table I just couldn't eat the salad. I told the hostess taking care of my table what had happened and she spoke to the manager. I wanted to exchange it for a piece of pie, but they didn't have a pie for even exchange of the salad. The pies they did have were at a higher cost than the salad. The hostess suggested that I could get reimbursed instead. The Manager didn't even come to the table to explain anything to me, but instead kept sending the hostess back and forth to say that there were no apple, cherry or pecan pies for the exchange. But, that the lemon meringue pie was at a higher price than the salad. I found that in a bit of poor taste on the Managers behalf. So much for the...
Read moreWorse experience I've ever had at a Lubys. We went at 5:30 PM to eat dinner with 14 other friends. I wanted to eat liver and onions and they had a small piece but wouldn't serve it to me because "the piece wasn't big enough for a serving". I then asked if I could have it as a LuAnn platter?". The answer was no. Next, came the drink order. I had to get water cause the coke fountain was not available when I went by. When I sat down and started to eat the food, the food was cold and unappetizing. When other people in my party asked for refills they were told they couldn't get refills. When asked for butter for our rolls, we were also told they had run out of butter! Now this was the beginning of dinner period.. not the end. There were also beef enchiladas that looked like they had been out on the serving line since opening. I'm just very disappointed in the service, food, and over all cleanliness of the bathrooms. I won't be going back to...
