Does anyone understand nuance in language?
I have been to this Ice Cream location before but unfortunately in the Era of Covid 19 everything is an ordeal. The visit to this place was no different.
The sign says people SHOULD wear a mask. For example, I should brush my teeth three times a day but that doesn't mean I MUST do it.
Again, do people not understand nuance in language?
Masks give me panic attacks yet the person working there still was combative with me.
To her credit she let it go once I told her this but this whole experience was HORRIBLE.
My friends were forced to eat their Ice Cream outside which almost immediately turned into a drippy mess.
I've visited other restaurants here in the Harlingen area and none were like this. All of them left us alone to enjoy our meal.
Side note: The owner should know that masks are completely useless for stopping viruses so he's hassling both his customers and his employees for no good reason. I also called the franchise just to warn them about the bad rep this location is setting for their franchise. I sincerely wish that they would care about their reviews and make the appropriate changes.I hope to see better reviews in the future but for now there is an overwhelming amount of negative experiences taking place at this location.
If you read the reviews most of the complaints are about the same lady. In my experience she refused to return a womans credit card because their credit card machine was not working and the lady didn't have cash. However, the problem had not been discovered until the ice cream was eaten. When I respecfully questioned her decision to withhold the card against the customers will, she yelled (literally yelled at me) saying that it wasn't their fault for the machine not working. As she made my custom banana split, I asked her to sprinkle the toppings so that they evenly spread over my entire dish. As she did as I (the paying customer) told her to do, the other older lady said no sir, she can't do that. So the young lady that was preparing my banana split finished up and handed it to me. The older lady was very rude and I did not appreciate it. What ever happened to catering to the customer?? Managers, if you place these rules on your employees, what kind of business are you running.?? Substandard!! If I'm going to pay for an expensive treat, guess what, I'm going to expect to get it the way I want it. You get 1 star until these stupid rules are lifted. Let your employees please your customers.
