Mesquite Valley Smokehouse — Restaurant in Harlingen

Ordered a half chicken plate,only comes with a cup of beans,one slice of bread,and a cup of bbq sauce.The chicken had a mesquite smoke flavor,skin was soggy not crispy.The chicken itself had a pinkish ring on it due to being cooked on mesquite.The chicken did not have a lot of flavor besides smelling like it was cooked with mesquite.I give it a 5 out of 10 on taste for the chicken.I would not get the chicken again,but I would try the brisket next time to be fair. The beans were good.I ordered a cup of rice on the side and it was full of about 10 different flavors probably because of all the veggies they put in it,did not like the rice.Also order a baked potato which was a very large size,however did not pay extra for it to be loaded which i would the next time for sure.The staff was very friendly and helpful over the phone since there was no menu online while placing my order, I went ahead and uploaded the full...

We had the pleasure of visiting Mesquite Valley Smokehouse. We were welcomed by their staff upon entering the establishment. Nathan was our server and was courteous & attentive throughout the time we were there. Complementary beans with sweet cornbread were brought to the table while we were deciding on what to order. The beans were seasoned well & the cornbread was freshly baked. We ordered the 2 meat BBQ combo and selected the brisket and pork spareribs which was a great choice!The brisket was moist & had an excellent taste and the ribs were also outstanding! Ridiculous!!!! Ridiculously good food, the meats are out of this world soft, and flavorful! Then when I thought it couldn’t get better, the service was even BETTER!!!!!! Ana was my server tonight, and she was the epitome of customer service, friendly, even was able to strike up a conversation with me, and gave me a good chuckle while I was in the midsts of being hangry lol.
