Blacktop BBQ — Restaurant in Harrah

My dad and I have been looking for a place to get good barbecue for quite some time now. All the good places we knew of for barbecue were gone, at least anywhere close to Harrah. Recently, my dad asked Google for a place near him for barbecue. To his surprise, Google suggested a barbecue place called Blacktop BBQ within a mile and a half of our location. We decided to give it a try. Dad ordered us a chopped beef brisket barbecue sandwich with a baked potato on the side. The food was not only excellent but hearty as well. The amount of beef on the sandwich was unbelievable. I wasn't sure I could finish it, and I'm a hearty eater. The smoky flavor of the beef was excellent. The barbecue sauce was delicious. The huge baked potato was perfect. I don't know ,but if I had to compare this place to Swadley's or Spencer's BBQ, I would say this place would win hands down. So as I was saying I was in Harrah and I hadn’t had lunch yet so I decided to grab some Blacktop BBQ.

Yeah I think the last TOC review might have undersold them. This is some seriously seriously good BBQ. Oh and the Mac & Cheese really was quite good too.

We absolutely did a disservice to Blacktop BBQ by taking as long to get there as we did. Shoot maybe we did a disservice to ourselves by not getting this bbq sooner.

It's literally a hole in the wall type of place, but worth a stop for decent BBQ. Got a three meat dinner. Sliced brisket, sliced thick, smoky, tender and juicy, has a touch too much fat for me. Chicken was also smoky and tender. Pulled pork was smoky, tender and was not fatty. BBQ sauce that I got was sweet, thick and has a kick to it. Beans are sweet with a hint of heat. Broccoli coleslaw was actually pretty good. They did not have any of the sausage when I was here. Got one of their cinnamon rolls. Not a fan of the cream cheese topping. Scraped most of that off and found the cinnamon roll decent. Not my favorite. Dry with alot of cinnamon, not enough sugar or butter in it. Doubt that I would purchase it again. Mainly a takeout place. Does have a couple of wire spool tables with little if any shade. Service was great and...
