I used to be a regular at this Penn Station, frequently stopping by for a quick lunch. However, my visits have taken a significant nosedive recently due to a rather disruptive issue that seems to mar the experience. Unfortunately, the location I once enjoyed has become a frustrating place to grab a bite.
On several occasions, I've found myself waiting to place my order or check out, only to be met with the disheartening sight of a team member on the phone, engaged in a heated argument. The individual in question is a taller gentleman with a slim build and noticeable tattoos. It's quite apparent that this behavior is not only unprofessional but also goes against the generally friendly atmosphere that other staff members strive to maintain. I've noticed that several of the other employees seem equally disheartened by this situation—an indicator that it’s not just an isolated incident but rather a persistent issue.
While the rest of the staff is pleasant and hardworking, that one disruptive team member creates an uncomfortable and often hostile environment. Busy lunch hours have turned into an unwanted spectacle of one-sided drama, which is the last thing anyone wants while trying to enjoy a meal. It’s a shame, too, because I genuinely appreciate the food and the rest of the crew's efforts.
If this issue isn't addressed soon, it might be time for a long-term hiatus from this location. There are plenty of other dining options that offer a more pleasant experience without the unnecessary drama. I truly hope to see some positive changes here—both for the sake of the other employees, who deserve a better workplace, and for patrons like myself who simply want to enjoy their lunch in peace. Until then, I’ll be exploring...
Read moreThe guy who took our order was distracted (understandably so as they were SUPER busy), but somehow, he marked no cheese on my sandwich. When I took it back up to the counter, the other employee acted like it was my mistake. I didn't want to be a "Karen" (again, they were so busy I felt bad), but cheese makes the sandwich. He asked if I wanted them to make a new one, but I asked if we could just throw some cheese on it, and that would be fine. He turns around and grabs a basket. I think he's going to put my sandwich in a new basket, but instead, he throws 2 pieces of cheese in it and hands me the basket. I looked at him confused, and I asked about it being (melted) put on my sandwich. Not very kindly he said, "I can't take that back." So I took the cheese and ate it. Penn Station isn't exactly cheap, so it was frustrating to not get the order I wanted, but the way it was handled kinda sucked too. I'm partly at fault bc I didn't ask for a new sandwich, but they seemed so busy and overwhelmed I felt bad asking for a new one. We love Penn Station, so we'll be back, but I'll be sure to do a better job of making sure my order is rung up properly, and I'll definitely check my ticket if we...
Read moreI’ve been eating here before the kids that work there were born. Never complained once. Until today when my wife’s order was wrong. We all make mistakes and it’s understandable but yet I had to go out of my way and waste my time and fuel to bring the sandwich back . Figured I’d at least get credited or even a free drink or cookie. Wasn’t my mistake. But nope. Even had to give the original sandwich back for some reason. Guess they wanted to eat my sloppy seconds or re sell it to the next guy so buyer beware. Especially these days with a pandemic. But just thought it was rude. Couldn’t even enjoy my sandwich with the family bc of the time spent and had to be at work myself. Where if I make a mistake I actually have to pay the consequences. But oh well. Another patron gone. I’ll be sure to let my family and friends know as well. Step it up PENN station. It’s not hard to pay for...
