Staff is rude and pretentious. They really don't care if you're happy or not. There was no ice in the machine, had to ask twice before anyone filled it. The self serve coffees were empty. The only one that had any coffee was cold. The tea was empty. Myself and one other customer were waiting for refills, finally gave up. Staff is too busy talking with each other to acknowledge there's a problem.. By the time they got around to it we were finished eating. I noticed they had a nice carrot cake on display with only a few slices out of it, so I figured it was fresh and decided to order a piece. The girl at the counter was busy chatting with a friend but finally the friend noticed I was trying to order and she stepped back. I ordered the cake and another girl went to the back and brought out a slice with a big hunk missing from the top. I said it looks like someone took a bite from this piece. She didn't say anything. I felt the plate and it was ice cold. It obviously had been frozen . I asked if they had another piece and they said , "No, that's the last piece of carrot cake." So , I told her to keep it. I'm looking at a fresh carrot cake right in front of me! And, I was told they didn't have anymore????? I won't go back here again. There's better places with much better service. Lilly Hobbs is just a few miles up the road. Update: I've gone back several times and they have corrected the problems. Food is always good and the staff is helpful and courteous. I'm changing this review to 5 stars. Kudos...
Read moreI understand that I'm not the richest looking person. I know I come in at lunch, with paint all over my clothes, but at the end of it all, I make enough money to pay for my meal. However, with the way Neighbor's Mill treats me, you would think I freeload off of all of them, and at a personal expense. I try to be patient every time I get an order wrong - it's happened about half the time, just like with any other restaurant. However, at any other restaurant, they don't have an attitude when they have to remake your order. I always order an extra bit of pickle. I like pickles, and they are 25 cents each for a small portion. I make no complaint - except for when I ask for two and get neither. I ask for no tomato, as I am allergic, and have to backtrack to bring my salad back. The girl makes my salad, slamming the lettuce in the box like a child, adding cucumbers and cheese, before giving me two slices of bread. Then, she decides I only need one slice and throws one back in the bread pile, as if I'm not able to see her doing it. Then, I get my chopped chicken, but it's chopped like I've asked her for her first born child and then thrown onto my salad. All in all, I paid nearly twenty one dollars for my food and tell the tale of a one dollar experience. If you aren't rich and you don't look fancy, you may want to find somewhere else to eat; they make you aware that they find you inferior. Sorry, Neighbor's Mill, that I inconvenienced you into making my order right - it won't happen again, loyalty...

We ordered the Honey Pecan Chicken Salad and the Woo Pig Sooie! sandwich. To get the best of both worlds, we did a little sandwich swapâeach of us taking half of both meals. It was a "Franken-sandwich" masterpiece, and every bite was delicious!
The ambiance of the restaurant added to the experience. We loved the charm and character of the building, especially the antique doors that gave the space so much personality. Before hitting the road again, we grabbed a banana-nut muffin to share for dessertâand wow, it was deeeliccious!!!
If we had one small suggestion, it would be to improve the signage for new visitors. It wasn't very busy when we arrived, and we were a little confused about where to go to place our order. We stood awkwardly for a few minutes and ended up at the wrong counter before a kind staff member directed us to the right place. A simple âOrder Hereâ and âPay Hereâ sign would be super helpful for first-timers.
Whenever we travel, we make it a point to support locally owned, mom-and-pop restaurants that prioritize whole, fresh ingredients, and Neighborâs Mill delivered. We were on vacation with a layover in Arkansas, and this was our very first meal out on our ten-day trip. It ended up being one of our absolute favorites!
All in all, it was a wonderful first meal that set the bar high for the rest of our trip. We'll definitely seek out Neighborâs Mill again the next time weâre passing through Harrison or...
