Chanello's Pizza — Restaurant in Harrisonburg

Mediocre Food, Horrible Customer Service.

A group of friends and I order the Chanellos Cheesy Bread almost every night in college. It has become a big thing in our hall. It's not the best but its just something we've always done.

Tonight things didn't go as they normally did.

We ordered the same Cheesy Bread we always did, but when it came to our door, it was a cheese pizza instead. We called and asked them to fix the order and they agreed so everything was fine. After hanging up, the manager called back and requested that we bring the pizza to the delivery car and exchange it, we weren't too happy about that as we had already waited 45 minutes and just wanted to eat what we ordered. We asked for a refund but the manager (Alyssa) refused. I asked for another manager and she replied there wasn't another in the store (remember this, it's important). I asked for the corporate office number to which she replied "look it up." She was very rude and short with me through the entire exchange, but we agreed to exchange the pizza.

This is where it gets bad.

When the second "cheesy bread" arrived.... it was the exact same as the pizza we had just received in error. Naturally we called again but this time... a different manager (Diane) answered. Remember how the first manager said she was the only one in the store? We explained the situation to her and upon saying that the other manager had been rude with us she responded "yes she tends to have a temper." We then asked for her to send us what we ordered and she responded that she couldn't but would come pick the pizza up and offer us a store credit. This was unacceptable as we had already waited an hour and a half and did not want to order from Chanello's again.

Wait! It gets better!

I insisted that she simply bring me what I had ordered to which she responded "It's basically the same as the pizza, it's just cut incorrectly."........what. They are two completely different things, we had a large group and were sharing it so 8 slices wasn't enough to share (it is normally an extremely large cheesy bread) and a pizza has a large crust and is not nearly as flat. She explained that they had someone new cutting the pizza to which I responded that I understood but was simply asking her to correct the mistake...

Here's the best part!

She said "Get a knife and cut it then" and hung up.

So I called again.... Alyssa, the first manager picked up. I asked one more time to simply make the cheesy bread and send it to me.... and she hung up.

I will be calling the corporate office office tomorrow and update this post when I get a response.

Meanwhile, my friends and I ate a cold cheese pizza and were extremely upset after two attempts and 2 hours later. Needless to say, our late night pizza will not be coming...

decided to give them a THIRD chance and of course I was let down again. I preordered my food online at 12pm to be for pickup at 1:15pm and I called to confirm if it was ready and was told my order was never received and that they would make it now and have it ready in 20 mins. 20 or so minutes later I arrived at the store to get my food and was told again there was no order for me but if I wanted to wait 10 minutes they make it then and have it ready for me. 2 hours and no food. Absolutely worst food experience thus far in harrisonburg. Would not recommend to anyone.

Update: 11/20/2018. Ordered food for delivery at 1:30am. Shortly after i recieved a confirmation email with an estimated delivery time of 2:05-2:15 am. 2:20 came and still no food so i decide to use the 'order tracker' link in the email and found out the store cancelled my order without even calling to inform me. The webpage also stated to "call for more information" but of course at this point the restaurant is closed and no one answered the phone. Gets worse every time. Sucks this is the only place open for late night...

I am gonna make it as short as possible😄So, I was craving for pizza at midnight everything was close and I came across this pizza place which I never had so I made a call PSA: I HAVE MAJOR ANXIETY ISSUES! The guy picked the call and was super super super nice to me & waited for me to complete my order regardless of how many times I asked him to wait! I got Hot wings, Garlic bread & Chicken supreme pizza.. IT WAS AMAZING! I’ve never had such a fresh pizza from outside EVER! The customer service and the delivery girl was extra nice.. CONSIDER GIVING IT A TRY they make delicious foo! The only thing I got confused about was the garlic bread which I thought would be like bites as I normally get from dominos.. but it was sub with garlic and butter in em from outside it was dry but that’s on me I ordered the wrong thing so you guys don’t do the same mistake ORDER THE RIGHT THING💀 totally worth the $$$🙌🏻🙌🏻 Will definitely...
