We were in town and I saw this place on Google about 5 minutes from where we were, and of course, we needed to visit. The location is super cute, it really is a little house and the decor out front and inside is adorable. They offer a couple gluten-free options as well. Service was very good - we got there right as it opened, so there was only one person there when we ordered but she asked if she could ring us up after so she could start on our food. A little bit later, the owner arrived and she brought our food and drink to us and was so personable and sweet. I ordered the Suzie Pepper, added bacon and a fried egg. It was quite tasty, the cheese perfectly melted and the bread perfectly toasted. It really hit the spot and I thought about ordering another one. Everyone else in the group was pretty happy with their food as well (the classic Johnny, 2 Mama Manias, a Tomato Mac’n’cheese, and a giant rice crispies treat).

I was craving a grilled cheese and my boyfriend mentioned this place, but he had never gone to it before. We took a shot with it and we’re really glad we did! We ordered some sweet tea, the daily special grilled cheese, and a grilled cheese on garlic bread, as well as some tomato soup. I swear, best grilled cheeses of my life. We both tried each grilled cheese and we both loved it. The sweet tea was amazing here as well. My favorite part, though, was the tomato soup. Incredible. Never had tomato soup that great before. Exceeded my expectations, really. Thanks for the great meal and we will definitely be coming again!!!

this place is an icon! Had the Casey snowcap, Port Ruby, and the harvest special which consisted of fried cinnamon apples bacon and cheddar. Let me tell you a combo that can’t be missed! Gooey cheese dripped on my shirt and I will forever hold this little stain in happy memory of my lunch. I got a shot of The tomato soup which tasted better than homemade. Loved the oldies streaming through the speakers and we just feel cozy and happy in the sunny little place. Just remember be nice to my home girls working behind the counter as they are understaffed at the moment but the food is worth the wait!

I ordered the vegan Chao sandwich. The cheese wasn’t melted. It was barely warm. I cook with Chao cheese all the time. It melts if you actually heat it. They just under cooked the food. I payed almost 30 dollars for my sandwich and a sweet tea and then another sandwich as sweet tea for my husband. It was ready relatively soon which was nice because I was in the middle of work. I wanted to go back to ask them to maybe pop my sandwich into the microwave but alas I was too busy with my job. The tea is nice. Has an herbal flavor to it. I can see the owner gets upset by the low reviews. I hope she can understand the disappointment of getting an undercooked sandwich for such a high price. Yes I know your vendors have gone up in price you had to include your prices. However my food should have at least been cooked. It was just soo so disappointing to be so excited to finally have enough money to eat at the place but the cheese wasn’t even melted.

Edit: finally seeing this. Kathleen, what I meant is you get deeply offended and defensive about lower ratings. This really dissuades anyone from wanting to give you honest feedback. I payed the fair price for your sandwhiches, and they weren’t cooked. Of course that’s going to cause a less than perfect score...

Great find thanks to Yelp! We were headed through Harrisonburg to some hiking locations and decided to stop for lunch. We had only a short wait behind some other customers when we arrived, which was perfect because it gave us time to look at the menu and the map showing where other visitors cane from. After ordering two sandwiches and a shot of tomato soup for dipping, we selected an indoor table. There's a sign around the tables suggesting that the place can get really busy and to be mindful of spending too much time at the few tables, but thankfully for us, there was plenty of room for us and the other families and friend groups. There's plenty of outdoor seating too, but the day was too humid for us to have hot sandwiches outside. As for the food, we were so happy with our Harrisonburg just-passing-through lunch choice! The bread was perfectly toasted with a pleasant crunch and the melty cheese on both of our sandwiches was that wonderful kind of velvety consistency. I loved the soup shot too, especially since I wanted the flavor and experience without the heat of a full serving of hot soup....

“Yup!”

My review can be summed up in that one word. But I’ll elaborate because google likes that sort of thing ;)

Yup- it’s damn good grilled cheese! Yup - you shouldn’t miss this gem! Yup- this is a brilliant idea! Yup- it’s locally owned!

Don’t miss the tomato soup because it’s the best I’ve ever had and I’m picky about my tomato soup. We also had a chance to try a sample of their macaroni and it was very very good.

My fiancé had the triple Lindy with pesto and bacon and he loved it. I had the more basic Grilled cheese with tomato because I’m a classic kind of gal- I believe it was called the Johnny? Delicious!

I was writing this review as we finished up our food sitting at our table and the owner stopped by to say hello. I’ve never met a woman more passionate about what she does. She was happy to share the story of how the business came to be when we asked. My fiancé and I are so impressed! After speaking with her I’m even more enthusiastic about this place!

Anyway- “Yup” you should...
