My husband and I ate here for a date night and it was pretty good. It is well-lit but lacking in ambiance. There are a few traditional tapestries on the wall and music playing but it's pretty sterile, which I guess for a restaurant is a good thing. The gentleman who took our order and brought our food was friendly. It took a while to get our food but once it came it was of great quality. The falafel wasn't the best I've ever had but it was good enough to finish - haha! The hummus (addicting- been back for more since!) was a classic Kurdish-style, a bit more thin and less salty than most people are used to. I personally enjoy this authentic version more, but if you order it don't expect a thick, spreadable hummus. I ordered the special, a lamb kebab rolled in walnuts, served with a garlic sauce. It was so delicious I was downright giddy! Highly recommend! The pitas were a bit bland. The server was nice enough to bring us a new sauce he had whipped up just to try. Little touches like that really set a restaurant apart from the others:). Also they have no drink on tap (you have to buy bottled) but they said they will soon be moving to a better location with soda fountain capabilities. It was a bit pricier than some food, but the amount of time and authenticity put in make it worth it. Would go back, likely for a to-go order so that I can dive right in without watching the clock and...
Read moreMe and my wife walked in to place an order for take out. We waited 50 minutes for 2 dishes. Falafel and Shawarma. Two dishes that most turkish restaurants would have on hand ready to go. We watched many other customers get served before us despite the fact we'd been there longer than them. And when the food finally arrived, it was very underwhelming and not worth the wait. My shawarma wrap had no veggies inside as advertised and there was honestly no flavor. Which was surprising because the restaurant smelled amazing at all times. And my wife's Falafel was burnt and also missing all the advertised veggies. And on top of that, my side of fries were soggy, limp, undercooked, and underseasoned. The staff at least were extremely friendly and even apologetic for our wait. And The atmosphere inside was cool. Felt genuine. I wanna assume that the restaurant was having an off night. Because like I said, the restaurant smells incredible inside and every dish I watched go out to other customers looked INCREDIBLE. Plus, I have to imagine they generally do good work considering they have a high rating already on Google. So I would consider giving them another chance. But as for now, my first impression is not a very...
Read moreWe were driving down Hwy 81 and looking for a nice place to break our long drive for dinner, and we couldn't have been more fortunate to have stumbled upon Pasha Rest & Cafe. Just minutes from the highway, we pulled up and, honestly, paused, wondering if this was a good idea. It was dark and there's no light-up sign outside, just a neon "Open" sign in the window. But, the thought of introducing our children to some authentic Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food won out and in we went. I'm so glad we did! The food was PHENOMENAL! Our kids were beyond delighted, as were the hubby and I. The portions are so generous and everything - everything - is homemade. The stuffed grape leaves and hummus - to die for, and arranged so beautifully. We had lamb, chicken, and steak in just about every format offered on the menu. Not only were all of their traditional dishes just perfect, but even the French fries were top notch crispy and flavorful. The kids cleaned their plates, and asked if we could stop there again on our next road trip. Do yourself a favor - if you've not gone to Pasha Rest & Cafe...
