I frequent this particular KFC and have for about 2 years. The service was phenomenal. If something was wrong either minor or major there was a manager Robert there to fix it. One day we went in this past summer and he was gone. Just vanished. My grandmother was so upset as she said things were on the upside while he had taken over.
Fast forward a few months after he was no longer at this location....there was a new manager and the lobby often was not open and when it was, chicken was not prepared and every employee was sitting in the dining area like shift work. They would take turns passing around the headphones for the drive thru and arguing about who would have to get up. The new manager Scarlett was absolutely horrific. She was always seen outside smoking or kicked back in a booth in the dining area. Grandma and I tried a few times to eat there and it was not the same.
Now fast forward to a few weeks ago, I walked into the restaurant with grandma to try the food and hope we were greeted with better service and I'm not sure who hired Sarah, but she has been the absolute best employee to ever work the front register in this particular KFC. (As we are frequents and have met everyone) Grandma has dementia now and after Sara took my order, she brought my cups around to me, filled them with my drink of choice and then brought them along with my food over to my table. It was not busy and she offered to help me cut my grandmas chicken tenders and grandma let her as she can not take big bites. It is like she new I needed help when I didnt even ask. I was amazed. I had tears in my eyes because I couldnt believe her level of customer service. She is phenomenal. Want to know what else? THE MANAGER ROBERT IS BACK!!!!! We can not wait until the dining area is open again, and we can only hope that Sarah is working the front and the restaurant stays on the upslope it is...
Read moreI don't say this lightly. This place is a dump. Before ordering take a walk past the counter to the soda fountain. While you're standing there take a look back at the kitchen. The place is run down and filthy. The thing that gets me the most is the aluminum diamond plate under the fryers. Undoubtedly the tile floor that was under the fryers and the subfloor was so degraded and saturated with fryer oil that the morter wouldn't stick to it so someone thought up using metal. I hate to think of what kind and how many bacteria are living under that metal! The dining room did not have a single clean table at 3pm. That didn't stop the cashier from sitting down right behind us and carry on a 20 minute conversation on her speakerphone. The only thing that got her up was another hapless customer wandering in which elicited a furrowed brow and and an expletive in English. The only reason I mention this is our 6 year old grandson was with us. There were no other customers. Not even in the drive through. This is a perfect storm of diminishing returns. If they don't turn enough business to maintain the store close it, PLEASE! The staff reflects the surroundings. It seemed an imposition to wait on us. I wish I had walked down an checked the kitchen before ordering. The cleanest part of this restaurant was the men's room. Does Harrisonburg inspect these places? Please pull the franchise KFC this place is a black eye on...
Read moreOrdered an 8 pc meal online with a 20 minutes pick up window. Get there and told the guy who just left got the last of the Xtra crispy. This was at 530. Told they only have dark in extra crispy and would have to fry up more with a long wait for the white meat. Told them we will do the white meat in original if we can get all legs in crispy or give us our money back. Got home and still got thighs so they lied. Tenders we got were horribly dried out and Cole slaw was so very bad we had to toss. Will be taking to corporate because we had the same issues in Florida where bad stores never get reprimanded. I never have issues with Bo's or Popeye's but KFC has been out fave for decades. Might just have to stop with them altogether. With so many other options including grocery stores, they can find themselves back selling in local restaurants. Also got some bull story that the reason they don't keep frying up the crispy is because it does not sell at all. Ticked that we prepaid for meal well before someone walked in and...
