El Puerto Mexican Grill & Cantina — Restaurant in Harrisonville

We have been here a couple of times. Have had good service and food. 4 of us went, and our bill ended up being $90.00. The food was pretty good, but not worth $90.00, way too much money for what was served. Service was okay. But the atmosphere was not good at all. Was not able to enjoy our visit with kids being so very loud and running around. The way they were acting was obscured. The adults didn't do a thing to stop it. Then, one of the workers was making things worse with the kids, playing back some and walking around the whole restaurant, even to the back for a little bit. It didn't calm them, made it worse. Since when is it okay to run around a restaurant and take it even further to wrestling around and being very loud. What about the other guest? Are we not allowed to enjoy our dining? After waiting nearly 7 minutes before even having anyone approach the table, nearby tables who were seated AFTER me were served prior toy table. Salsa was bland! I had food dumped on me by the waitress without even an apology and the plate was returned to the kitchen and more toppings added instead of replacing the meal. I ordered their Enchiladas Supreme which was supposed to come with Mexican rice and beans but was served with neither. I also ordered a grilled chicken quesadilla which was stuffed to overflowing with chicken but very little cheese. I noticed customers had to get up from their tables to retrieve napkins and to go boxes. I will NOT recommend this location nor can I conceivably return after such a poor experience...

We’ve eaten at the Pleasant Hill location once and didn’t like it, but we decided to try the new one in Harrisonville. There really isn’t any ambience, and the lights are way too bright. The booth seats are a little uncomfy if you’re plus sized.

But the salsa was bland, kinda tasted like tomato sauce out of the can. Food was ok, but very bland. I got a combo and the fried taco was not bad, but just didn’t have any flavor. My bf got a combo with a tamale and it had both shredded beef and ground beef in it. He didn’t care for it either and agreed how bland the food was.
