China Garden No.1 — Restaurant in Hartford

I ordered via online around 5:30pm, food arrived around 7pm. Food was horrible, and loss of money due to ended up tossing it all in garbage and ordering from a different Chinese Restaurant . My order included chicken and broccoli barely no chicken, and lo mein barely had beef. What made it worse had this horrible vinegar after taste. The fried dumplings was more dough that was chewy and very undercook. Egg rolls, and rice were below average. The spare ribs were over cook, and too hard. The fried donuts were horrible. One bite was like taking a spoon of oil. I took a full sheet of bounty towel, and attempted to sqeeze oil out of 1 donut. I gave up after the 3rd towel. I was given a coupon for free 2 liter soda included with my order over $35, and never sent soda at all. I had guest so I ended up ordering from another venue. I am deaf, and was unable to call to give complain. It would had taken forever through relay after being hung up, so just took the loss. If I could give it no stars, I would. It’s disappointing to have to write this review, the general tso is delicious….. just pick your food up. The driver claimed he knocked on our door (must have been at the wrong house, never called) went back to the restaurant and an employee called us, we informed her he never came here. The employee said she was going to send it back to us. It had to have been as soon as the driver got back in his car he called us and said he had to make another deliver after we had already waited 40 min, so we decided no thank you. Driver response “do your thing” so if you decide to eat here we suggest you pick it up. Also remember you will not receive “customer service” just food. We will not order...

They added Poke Bowls to their menu that are reasonably priced. I got the Sweet Chili Shrimp and Scallop bowl and it was good. Don't expect a fancy experience because it is a local Chinese Restaurant, but with that said it's the only Poke place in Hartford. They have a nice selection of ingredients.
