Pros: food was fresh and tasted good!
Cons: not enough options! No fruit which is supposed to be a staple of a traditional poke bowl. I opted for the most expensive option, the portions were small, "sides" are additional money, however I would expect those sides as a normal mix in option at other poke joints. The Macha drink was bitter. The staff was very nice but the owner was staunch. I asked if I can split a serving half and half for a "side" and the way he shot me down came off rude. Price for a large bowl which includes 3 proteins and a "side" and drink was about $24 with a 15% tip. The poke itself was $16.
I am a bit of a poke connesuer (sp)? Lol eating at places all over CT, RI, and MA so I know my poke! Lol I was excited to try this place out for weeks when I learned about it, but came away disappointed. However, it's my first time eating at the Parkville Market and noticed that this place was on the bougie side with marked up prices through out. So perhaps the poke pricing was due to the location.
In case you don't know the Parkville market is a nicely remodeled warehouse and houses at least a dozen different authentic ethnic restaurants in a kind of food court style. It is very clean, and inviting. I saw kids running and playing, dogs chilling, and people enjoying the good vibes in the large outdoor seating area. I was pleased to find that they have live entertainment too! I'll definitely be coming back but probably not...
Read more“A fall from grace” is the only—and most appropriate—way to describe this spot. Small portions, horrible service and poor quality of ingredients make this the place NOT to come if you are at Parkville.
Want to spend $15 (or more if they are feeling greedy) for a barely full small bowl? Then you are in for a treat! All the workers aside from the two women (an Indian woman and an elderly Asian woman) seem to have an issue with serving proper portions or giving proper customer service. Shoutout to the guy with glasses and septum as he never fails to roll his eyes, condescendingly talk to the customer or even, talk smack in Spanish thinking people do not understand him. Shoutout too for closing an hour early while people were still looking to order despite the hours listed saying otherwise.
Have been coming here since the spot is a staple of Parkville but Jesus, what a disappointment it is to come here every time and barely eat something. Other Poké spots in the area offer more food, better ingredients and all while...
Read moreReturned for second visit after VERY tasty meal day previous. First time here yesterday. Actually got same meal today - Banzai pipeline - and it was definitively a different meal. One - not as much food included, two - something deep, green and totally different than previous day on top, and three - the salt content in the meal was horrible, again NOT on the meal the day before. Ate about half of the bowl only. Should have returned and said something, but just did not, my mistake. Need to work on consistency here folks. VERY different product on the second visit, enough that I am hesitant to return. And the salt shaker needs to be REMOVED from the kitchen! On a positive note, employees were very friendly and good customer service. And the value is there - but only the first visit when the male employee prepared the bowl - NOT on the...
