Today I went to the restaurant La Casita del Sabor II on Park Street, Hartford. There were five of us, and we all ordered different dishes. The waitress wasn’t too bad; she only checked on us once, but the worst part was at the end. Before leaving and paying, I ordered a soup to go for my son, which cost $20.
We paid the bill and left. I placed the soup on the front seat to keep an eye on it while driving. However, when I got home, I realized all the broth from the soup had spilled into the bag and not stayed in the container. This clearly happened because the container wasn’t properly closed.
I called the restaurant to inform them of what happened, expecting an apology or at least some empathy, but that wasn’t the case. The person I spoke to was extremely rude. They told me it wasn’t their fault and there was nothing they could do. They offered to replace the soup if I brought it back to the restaurant, but I explained that I live in Glastonbury, 30 minutes away. I even offered to send pictures or videos as proof, but they refused, insinuating that maybe I had done something to cause the problem. That was completely disrespectful! I had no reason to lie; I just wanted a fair solution.
When I asked for a refund, they said they couldn’t do that. Their response was indifferent and showed no intention of resolving the issue.
Finally, I called my sister to tell her what had happened. She offered to come to my house and take the soup back to the restaurant since she lives nearby. But honestly, I didn’t want anything to do with those people anymore. I won’t let anyone treat me like a liar.
My sister had to leave her house, drive to my place, and then go to the restaurant to resolve the issue. Honestly, I don’t understand how they operate like this, with such poor service and such an unprofessional attitude. This restaurant clearly doesn’t know how to treat its customers. What a huge disappointment! I’m never going back to that place, and I hope others are cautious about going there. It’s obvious they don’t care about their customers or providing...

Tried their steak, chicken, chorizo, fried pork chops, rice beans, sweet plantains, & salad(dressing & hot sauces were awesome too, perfect balances of fresh flavors with heat!) ...all PERFECT; and im very picky, with both taste AND texture, and ALL of it was spot on, tasted every bit as good as home cooked...& ive compared a lot of places too, oh & their portions are generous too! (especially for the lower than average prices!) ...i will definitely be back & send as many people here as i can! (Especially since, just as importantly, everyone is welcome here! ...and the Puerto Rican guy i tried it all with loved it too, so i felt it important to note his approval as well, definitely legit...can't...
Read moreFirst time visiting and it didn’t disappoint! We were a group of seven for lunch and the experience was excellent. The portions are generous, and they also offer great lunch specials.
We ordered a mix of dishes: grilled chicken breast, breaded chicken breast, skirt steak, and beef steak. For sides, we enjoyed rice and beans, fries, tostones, avocado, and salad. As an appetizer, we started with chicken empanadas—and they were delicious.
Everything was flavorful, well-prepared, and served with care. This spot is definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for hearty portions and...
