I gave this bakery 3 stars for the fact that the cake was delicious however the customer service I received was not matching. (This is a long post so brace yourselves) I was referred to this bakery by a client and so I thought I'd pay it forward by giving them the business. I had sent an email via the website at the beginning of November looking to have a cake made for the 20th of November. I called to verify that my message went through and was told to send a picture of the style of cake I wanted via text with the flavor of cake and for how many people. Upon doing so I received a response fairly quickly. Everything went smoothly and I even called that same day (time stamp via text November 5th) and made a full payment. Fast forward to the day of, I walk in cheery awaiting to see my cake and the lady at the front had no clue what I was asking her. I mentioned I had a cake to pick up which would be ready for 3pm . No idea, so she goes to talk to the pastry chef and she comes out and looks at me as I am in the wrong and continues to ask me if I am certain that I indeed had a cake scheduled for that day. I continued to reassure her and even pulled up the text messages. The pastry chef checked her phone as well and confirmed that I had a cake due that day at 3pm as I had mentioned. She gasped and realized she hadn't made the cake and told me to come back by 6. Throughout this whole ordeal I felt no remorse from either women, in fact I was talked to as I was wrong and messed up. I mentioned to them that the plans for which I needed the cake for was rescheduled for Sunday and that they were in luck and the women at the front looked at me and spoke as if I shouldn't worry about the cake not being done because my plans were moved...I am not one to cause a scene so I left it at... I'll stop by before 6 to pick up the cake. Upon picking up the cake, the pastry chef brought it out and it did look wonderful and just like the picture I had texted however there was an issue with the topper which did not stay and later broke on the day of my event, so that's that. I chose to not make a scene as I am not one to do that but rather I felt it best to leave a review so that this does not happen in the future as this is the only way for anyone to do better. I never received an email or a receipt from my payment, not even through text. I never received confirmation of my payment or of my cake being ready, these should have been my first signs. When they realized they were in the wrong I never, not from the chef herself or the women in the front, received an I'm Sorry. I was never asked if I traveled far to pick up the cake, I was never asked if I was being inconvenienced. I was given a cappuccino by the women who was in the front when I went to pick up the cake, but the damage had already been done. I believe customer service is key to running a business especially when word of mouth and even reviews are what keeps customers going to establishments and unfortunately the customer service I received was not one of which I would go back to no matter how delicious...
Read moreWanting to support a Hispanic owned business, I chose this bakery to make a cake for my daughter's birthday. I went in person and ordered a cake for her b-day party a week in advance. I was very clear on how I wanted the cake to be decorated. That Sunday, I arrived to pick it up and, unfortunately, it was missing several things. The lady behind the counter called someone on the phone and then I waited almost an hour for the baker/owner/or whoever they were to finally show up and make the cake look how I wanted. When they finally arrived, they showed up with several others, who clearly weren't employees, and a dog. At that point I was running late, so I told them to please fix my cake so that I could be on my way. They finally fixed it and to my request I was given a discount; not enough, but something is something. All this to say that the service was ok, and although it finally looked great, the taste of the cake did not "wow", and the dog needed to stay home. For real! You're working with food! Leave your dog home and get yourself a therapist! I chose this bakery over the many others in the area, that have been in the area for many years, because I wanted to show support to a Hispanic owned business. Unfortunately, for them, I'll never spend another penny in this place. I only gave them 3 stars because they did end up making the cake look the way I wanted it to. But as I stated, I'll never spend another cent...
Read moreWent in after seeing reviews and website. Was really looking forward to it. Place was pretty bare, cases mostly empty except for a handful of pastries filled with different things. The one guy working spoke zero English. When we finally could explain that we were asking to see a menu he indicated they have no menus only what was in the cases, none of which had any labels. Another gentleman who happened to be there and also spoke no English tried to get us to go to a Caribbean restaurant across the street. We came for the reported excellent paninis and coffee but left very disappointed, especially since the website is in English and clearly has a menu. But there was no point asking for anything because he couldn’t read or write English. What a frustrating disappointment. They could at least have...
