I normally buy food from the Taqueria in Plainville, CT which is always amazing. Therefore I thought it was this Taqueria restaurant on Park Street in Hartford would be the same. It actually was the worst place ever, and I should have known just from the disorder sitting on top of counters. The place is filthy, with money counting machines and old mail on the counter tops. I order 3 marinated pork tacos with a side of spanish rice and refried beans for 17 dollars. I didn't look at what I brought to eat until I got home. I was very disappointed. They served me black bean stew with chicken flavored rice that had canned veggies in it like, peas, carrots and green beans. The tacos meat wasn't edible it was dry chunks of some unrecognizable reddish dried pork meat. Nothing was good. I was so disappointed that I wasted my money at this restaurant expecting to eat a good furfilling meal for lunch. Instead I walked into a restaurant that was as grimy and dirty as the neighborhood and street its located on in Hartford. For all you that doordash from here I highly don't recommend eating here especially if you have never stepped a foot inside of...
Read moreMy wife and I just enjoyed a great experience at this restaurant tonight. We knew no Spanish, and our servers were struggling with their English, but the owner hopped in to rescue all four of us! He was truly a charming gentleman, and tried to find out what exactly we would like off the menu and where are taste ranged And he matched our taste to the menu and they did a perfect job! Not only that, but he allowed us to taste a couple of other things like a couple of drinks, the hibiscus drink, and one other that I cannot pronounce. I had asked for an experience of something I could not get somewhere else, and he brought the drinks to me, and he even suggested a menu item that I had never had anywhere else, and they were perfect choices! To top it all off we had his homemade churros and Tres leches cake, as well as a cup of coffee and each was excellent in their own right.
The owner made it a great night and he has created a very nice restaurant with a great ambience and also likes to make sure that his customers have a great experience. You should definitely go here for authentic Mexican, food, and...
Read moreI keep driving by this little Mexican joint on Park road in Hfd, but never stop in. I finally wheeled up to the curb, and sauntered into Viva Mexico Taqueria for a bite to eat . There was a stately Mexican gentleman who greeted me and gave me a menu. I looked at all the choices and decided on the three tacos with beans and rice. My seat was directly in front of a cooler that held every single Mexican beer that I ever heard of. The food came out on a Taco rack, with two types of salsa, wedges of fresh lime and sour cream. The first salsa burned my whole head off, and the second one was perfect. The three separate tacos were chicken, shaved pork, and a seasoned pork. All the food was extremely flavorful and fulfilling. The server and helper were both very kind and helpful, and were excellent at their jobs. I grabbed a paper menu on the way out so I can plan my next Mexican fiesta. Everyone should check out Viva Mexico Taqueria when they're in the park Rd broad Street district . You will be amazed at the food and the...
