Creole Cafe' & Catering — Restaurant in Hartland

Cute cafe. Stopped for breakfast and coffee. The espresso machine was not working but they had a great coffee selection and were very accommodating, making a white hot chocolate for my granddaughters. The baked goods were EXCEPTIONAL. We had the scones and a blueberry muffin. Scones were not too dry and covered with a not too sweet icing. Delicious! The blueberry muffin was filled with berries and topped with a sprinkle of decorating sugar. The top was crunchy and the lower muffin was moist. Both would the scone and muffin would be worth a trip from Brookfield! We also enjoyed the breakfast sandwich and quiche. No egg patties here! Real eggs, cooked individually! Both were generous portions. The cafe is small with limited seating. It was very busy the day we were there and the wait was a bit lengthy but totally worth it. Everyone seemed willing wait for...

As residents of Hartland and fans of breakfast and coffee, we had to stop and visit. Service was 6 stars. Everyone was exceedingly friendly and happy to help. The French toast was also spectacular and probably the best that we have had. Coffee was hot, seating was comfortable, baked goods were tasty, and we definitely had a relaxing meal.

Unfortunately the remainder of breakfast was nothing to write home about. The eggs seemed to be the 'scrambled from a carton' variety and the grits were 'meh' and bland. It felt very much like a hotel continental breakfast. I love eggs and have never been a fan of grits so let that inform your opinion of my opinion. We started going to this delicious cafe when our daughter had theater lessons nearby. The oatmeal was super yummy and you could add any toppings you wanted. My husband is a self proclaimed connoisseur of biscuits and gravy. He said that this was the best he's ever had! The service is super friendly- first name kind of thing. We loved it so much we actually decided to have them cater for us when we moved into the area. The catering servings were very generous...we were actually eating the Jambalaya for days after! The chicken salad sandwiches on croissants are heavenly. And don't forget those cheddar jalepeno biscuits!
