Upon entering, I was overwhelmed by sewage smell. After my husband and I were seated, I asked the waitress if that awful sewer smell was because the bathroom toilets were overflowing or what? Couldn't believe it when her response was, "no, nothings wrong with the toilets, the smell is here everyday but if you just breathe it for awhile, you really don't notice it anymore." I was shocked that she suggested we should just adjust to it (what, what, what???), and"it's like this EVERY DAY?? The smell wasn't slight or barely noticable...no, this smell was heavy and saturated the entire building. I asked her if the water in the sink was running clean, etc, because it's incredibly obvious that this place is experiencing something toxic and unsanitary. I must have attracted some attention because a Latino woman suddenly appeared and I got the impression that she was either management or maybe one of the owners. As I didn't want to make a scene and also wanted to get back out into fresh air ASAP, I simply looked at her and said " you need to close this restaurant and hire someone to find and stop the source of this sewer smell because it's not only offensive but also probably not healthy for the public." She never responded so I left. My husband was already in the car waiting for me. He said he couldn't tolerate that smell long enough to wait for me. I'm not posting this to be unkind to the restaurant. I'm doing it for the good of the public and in hopes that this establishment will take notice and take action to clear out and clean...
Read moreThis used to be one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in town but this last visit has made it impossible for us to return. We went on a Sunday, which surprisingly was not busy, we were seated quickly in a booth hidden in a corner but no waiter came to take drink orders for at least 10 mins. But the booth in front of us were given checks and to go boxes while we were completely ignored. When I told the girl cleaning the table that just left that we hadn't ordered drinks yet she didn't say a word and swiftly left the area. A man finally came to our table with no pleasantries just "drink", came off very rude from the jump. We also ordered our guacamole which came nicely made and tasty, but we placed our entree order and then proceeded to wait at least 45 mins for it to arrive. After waiting that long with no food, we watched a table that had arrived after us get their meals and practically finished their food when we decided we were leaving. We walked out and it seemed like no one noticed. The last time I'll be there since they can't value the customers they have and...
Read moreThe reason I am giving this review 2 stars is because the food is amazing. The service on the other hand is extremely lacking. I went there Sunday. They were having computer issues which made the credit card machines down. Completely understandable, it happens! What wasn't acceptable is the fact my husband and I were seated after almost 10 minutes of waiting with numerous open tables around and then proceeded to wait another 15 minutes before leaving because no one ever came over to our table. If we were overlooked, I would get that. But there were other tables around us where their server kept coming back to them (multiple food orders wrong/refills), but didn't even stop to see if anyone had helped us. I've been in F&B my entire life and that's something you just don't do. Not to mention my last visit (AROUND 4-5 months ago), my husband and I (and 5 other parties) were standing there while servers zoomed by and no one even stopped. Neuva Villa, y'all N E E D a...
