Cute enough local place. Good service staff to take care of you. Food wasn't spectacular but wasn't awful. They were pretty packed (we waited about 5-10 minutes at the maximum). My main course came out cold (waffles with bacon and brown sugar). They serve warmed up maple syrup with it but give it you immediately after you order so by the time you actually get the waffle the syrup isn't warm anymore. My grandmother ordered a custom omelette and got an additional ingredient inside that she didn't order. Our waitress hadn't come by in awhile to see if our food was okay. Again they were busy so not the end of the world. I'll try it again in the future when they're not so busy.

If you find yourself in Hartsville, do yourself a favor and stop by Meet Me at Irene’s. This cozy spot delivers exactly what you’d hope for in a local diner—great food, fast and friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere that clearly has earned it a loyal local following. I stopped in for lunch and had the gyro and fries, which were absolutely outstanding—perfectly seasoned, generously portioned, and served hot and fresh. At just $15.00 per person, the value is hard to beat. Whether you’re a regular or just passing through, Irene’s is well worth a visit for breakfast or lunch. Highly recommended!

Sadly disappointed in this place. I heard it was good over a year ago and finally tried it out. Steak and eggs were awful. Steak thin and gray, hash browns shredded tasteless and undercooked. The burger was ok. The egg sandwich was ok. Best thing they made was the bacon. Very expensive for what you get. I ordered an egg sandwich with rye toast, and they gave me wheat toast, the waitress insisting it was Rye! Compare the food to a place like Woody's in Portage Lakes or B&K in Canton. (similar small breakfast places) It's not even close. Over priced, sub-par food. Sorry! :(

We’ve been coming here for years. I still hold my initial opinion. If you’re a regular, you get handled better. My daughter and I went for breaky on Monday. The wait staff is friendly, but not attentive. I waited for coffee. Never got my drink I ordered. Couldn’t get any extra napkins because both ladies never came back to the table. And I wasn’t feeling my normal spunky self or I would have gotten up and asked. Suggestion. For the sausage gravy and biscuits. Don’t pile everything together like a mosh pit. Biscuits with gravy on one end… eggs… and taters. I couldn’t enjoy anything because it was all smushed together. That’s just how we both felt. And we used to own a bakery that I served food as well. So I do know a “little” about the...

Such a great little place. Stopped in 35 minutes before closing, got a seat at a very clean booth. Waited on promptly by friendly staff.

Hubby got the Philly Cheesesteak Omelet with hash browns, I got a single biscuit with sausage gravy.

The omelet was amazingly fluffy, well filled, and very good. The hash browns were crispy, wheat toast was fine. Everything was hot when served.

The biscuit was ok, the gravy very good, just a little on the peppery side for those who may not like it so spicy. Served hot as expected.

Atmosphere was nice, very clean, friendly employees, music at a nice level. We'll be sure to go again. Decaf coffee was...
