Subway — Restaurant in Hartwell

Updated Sept 2025: Two customers were in the store on a weekday @2:30P. Store seemed cleaner then last time and veggies / meat were fresh. Staff was pleasant and today they were well staffed (owner + 2 employees). Food tasted good and they were generous with the extra veggies

I raised them to a 4 Star rating because they're on the right track. However, until they start accepting Subway coupons, they'll never get that 5th Star. Not accepting coupons creates a visceral response in people.

(Note: Dec '23, Subway corporate began requiring ALL stores accept digital coupons, promotions, and loyalty programs nationwide. This store still refuses.)

The food is the same here as any other subway which is yummy but that becomes irrelevant when a restaurant doesn't have set hours and closes at the most random times. One week day I stopped by at 3:30pm... Closed. Another day went by at 7:15 on a Friday... Closed. And there have been plenty other occasions... I've never seen them open after 8pm when the hours sign says 9pm. And there is usually a paper on the door that says due to short staffing they are closed which is completely understandable but this has been like that for at least 6 months or more... Absolutely the slowest Subway. It looked like the movie "Deliverance". Not a place I would take my family for a subway sandwich. Definitely a let down. Hartwell can do better. As well as the building needs major updates and clean up. Dirty dirty dirty, even the signage and windows were dingy Sun bleached advertisement. From the people people standing in line placing an order to the people making the orders, Not appetizing at all. They also DO NOT take Subway mail flyer coupons.
