I grew up on lemon filled donuts and coffee at Dunking Donuts in the Boston area and love Dunking Donuts, BUT they have really changed their business model or this is the worst franchise they have. No lemon donuts, and the coffee tasted like hot dish water. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had at a Dunking Donuts. You're far better of at a Caseys or Pump and Pantry where the coffee is good. I am very disapointed.
UPDATE: DECEMBER 3, 2018
Well I found myself in Hastings NE and wanting a cup of coffee. My last review of Dunkin Donuts was not good and now it needs revision. I ordered coffee and a lemon donut and was told the same thing as the last time I was here; "We don't sell lemon donuts." I don't know why this particular DD doesn't have lemon donuts and maybe other locations don't either although I have never seen a DD who didn't have them and that's a real negative for me. So I ordered a cup of coffee with cream and a Boston Creme donut. Both were great! The coffee was strong, hot and very good. The Boston Creme donut was outstanding. The service was snarky going through the "drive thru" but it may be that I was asking too many questions about why they had no lemon donuts. Anyway, I have updated my review to reflect the totality of this visit and added a...
Read moreWe went through the drive thru on October 26th while in town and everything seemed fine when we ordered, but it was a different story when we got to the window.
My wife has the app on her phone and asked if we could load cash to the app to receive the points. That is when the young lady at the window seemed to become irritated and said, "I can't take your phone" as she walked away from the window. I'm not sure what the issue was, but even if she couldn't load the cash the customer service was pretty bad. My wife was confused because she has dome good at other locations in Omaha where We live. We would have been happy to still pay for our order as we were heading out of town, but with the way the young lady was interacting with us we decided to just say never mind. We never do this! My wife even said that we should take it because the order was already made, but we couldn't let it allude with the way the employee reared towards us.
We do love Dunkin! Our kiddos especially, but this left a bad taste in our mouth in regards to this...
Read moreI actually prefer Duncan as my go to place for donuts over the local competitors. This is due to the sheer variety of donuts you can order from there.
The hot food on the other hand, leaves something to be desired, but hey! It's a donut shop first and foremost, and that's what I'm basing my star rating off.
That and the service. I rarely see the same face twice, as they are always training someone new. This leads me to believe management is failing to hold employees; this leading to new employees getting orders wrong. Like my order. More than once. Its minor stuff really, like putting the wrong drink down on the receipt, then handing me a size down from what I ordered after "fixing" the mishap.
I still enjoy the Hastings Duncan Donut facility all and all, and will continue to be a consumer of their product...
