Goombas Pizzaria — Restaurant in Hatfield Township

I'm not one to leave a negative review but for my husband to be referred to, by the owner, as a Karen. I'm over the top done. Order two sandwiches for pick up. Get there checking out the dessert case to be rushed by the two kids at the counter. Ok are you paying cash or card. I see the sign save 3% paying cash, how much for cash she looks confused, ok on to card. Do you accept a military discount, she answers yes, I hand her my card. No we don't do that, ok here's my card. I leave, no containers for the complimentary pickles or peppers cause I'm rushed out the door. I get to the car and say wow that was so rude. Now we live in Telford, not right around the corner but the sandwich is usually worth the trip. I get home to two wrong sandwiches. I call, I'm not happy, you rushed me out of the store to bag up the wrong sandwiches. The owner gets on the phone only continuing arguing with me the paying customer how I'm pissed because they didn't offer a military discount. I'm pissed cause I have the wrong sandwiches and even if you deliver or I pick up I have to take my original sandwiches that are now 45 minutes or more sitting there getting soggy and cold. He tells me there's nothing wrong with these sandwiches which I honestly believe in if you return food to a restaurant you better believe they mess with it. I don't want the sandwiches I want a refund. We'll deliver them I want a refund. I can't give you a refund I don't have your card. Void the transaction, manually type in the numbers, no we have to go there for the refund. Husband bags up the wrong sandwiches because the owner has now pissed him off. Two sandwiches and angry husband drive back down 309. I wasn't there to see what happened but the Karen comment, come on man own up to it and learn some class. Your people screwed this up all the way around and you know what, the customer was right in this scenario. Never again. I just checked the refund apparently someone can't do math either. I'm not sure if I can let this go or do I battle...

Called my first order in, was really excited to try it for the first time. Ordered 2 cheesesteaks, fingers, fries, and calamari. Was told it would be to me with in an hour. After over an hour I called, and was told the driver said he made all his deliveries, and girl on the phone seemed confused. After some talking in the background I heard “he left over a half hour with that food and they never got it” she placed me on a short hold and said the food would be here shortly. I said ok, are we about to get cold food? I was assured that if there were any issues to just call back. Over 10 mins later the food arrived. Everything was smashed from sitting on top of each other as well as wet and cold. And this is the portion size of calamari you get with an order???? So I called back to explain the condition of the food and the gentleman I was speaking with just kept saying “we don’t guarantee delivery times” that’s all fine and good but the food had been sitting in the drivers car for over 40 mins and is now a mess. I explained to him the time wasn’t the issue, the condition of the food was. He did offer to remake the order, but I wasn’t really interested in waiting till 10 o’clock to finally eat dinner. Guy seemed very defensive about the situation, so finally I told him, I’ll tell ya what, don’t worry about it, I’ll just leave you a truthful review on google....

We’ve been ordering from Goomba’s for several years now and they never disappoint. Tiny place with huge flavor! Today we ordered yeungling battered fish and chips - came out nice and crispy, juicy fish, crispy golden fries; pesto gnocchi - a favorite of ours, lots of garlic and Parmesan with the pesto (we use the leftover oil to cook with the next day!); 14” homemade meatball pizza - nice thin crust, flavorful meatballs, could have had a little more cheese on the one side today. Other things we love and frequently order: Da Vegetarian (PACKED with veggies, delicious but sometimes it’s hard to eat because of the thin crust), their wings are excellent, so are the Sicilian calamari. My only negative comment - sometimes the side salad is just chunks of lettuce hearts (bottoms mostly) and not very fresh. Would be great if someone looked into that and improved the salad part. That’s it. Awesome delivery service - sweet older man who braved our steps to get the food to the front door today. Side note to customers: instead of placing an online order through DoorDash, call the restaurant and order delivery through them, give the driver the $5 that you would have otherwise spent on online delivery fees.
