One day in 2017, during the brunch rush at Sweet Dixie Kitchen—a small Southern California restaurant that the Orange County Register once dubbed “Long Beach’s Church of Southern Breakfast”—a customer was astonished to see a member of the restaurant’s staff duck into the kitchen bearing two large orders of Popeyes fried chicken. “I wanted to believe that this was just a snack for the workers, but alas it was not,” the patron, who goes by Tyler H. on Yelp, wrote, in an account of the meal. The chicken was, instead, destined for plates of the restaurant’s thirteen-dollar entrée of chicken and waffles. When Tyler asked a server for more detail on how the dish was prepared, his suspicions were confirmed: the restaurant readily owned up to outsourcing its chicken-frying to the national chain. Kim Sanchez, the owner of Sweet Dixie Kitchen—who happened to be the Popeyes smuggler Tyler had spotted—doubled down on her decision in a response appended to Tyler’s Yelp post. “We PROUDLY SERVE Popeyes spicy tenders,” she wrote, noting that her culinary philosophy is all about sourcing ingredients from the best purveyors, whether it’s tracking down jam from an artisan in Alabama, finding fresh vegetables at the farmer’s market, or placing a takeout order for America’s best fast-food...

I've had a horrible experience each time I visited. The employees aren't helpful or competent. I've dealt with a manager before and rathered the lower level employees still. The last straw I had with this place was after I ordered on the app and arrived the place was closed even though they were supposed to be open for almost 2 more hours. After sitting at the ordering station for a couple minutes with no greeting I pulled forward to the window and was ignored for a few more minutes while employees passed by and looked at me ignoring me. When someone finally came to the window and told me they are closed and kept telling me I'm wrong about the hours even though the sign was directly in front of me on the window he rudely told me anything with the app isn't their problem and I was on my own dealing with it. So to add insult to injury as my card had already been charged and I had to contact customer service to get my money back. From what I heard they do this often. So avoid this place and even if it's your last resort you will be less stressed and annoyed by...

It's Popeyes. Some of the best fried chicken around in the 19454. Lines tend to move slowly in the drive through and the internal dining remains closed atm as of the timing in this review 6.19.2021. Sometimes they are out of stock or inventory on popular items but they have been improving slowly. I get a shrimp tackle box EVERY Saturday after getting my car washed as a treat to myself. They definitely need to fix the mix on their fountain soda machine asap. But let's focus on how well their food tastes and what you typically get for your dollar. Everything is perfectly cooked never over done or saturated which attention to detail being on point. It's worth the weight pulling away and your order being correct everytime. The ladies who typically run the drive thru are patient and do an excellent job in my opinion and experience. This location is one of a kind near me, easy to get to, and relatively easy to get out of. I'm grateful for them being close by as I said I love friend shrimp and chicken as a treat and they HOOK IT UP!...

Umm so today 3/12/25 an employee had his shoes off with his socks on it made me very uncomfortable & honestly disgusted. Also this location does something weird to their frozen lemonade. At all popeyes locations the frozen lemonade is yellow & has a different consistency than what I receive at this location. My frozen drink is white and chunky, not like any other popeyes location I’ve been to where I order the frozen lemonade. The employee with his shoes off was definitely a bad look & bad vibe for the store. I’ll be going to the one on Bethlehem Pike if I ever regain my cravings for popeyes.

My first time at a Popeyes ever. I got the 3 pc tenders and fries. Food was excellent; perfect and hot and the fried chicken was great. I also loved the idea that my combo came in a little box. The food was good, but this location needs some help. It’s Saturday afternoon and there were long lines for the drive through and inside (we went inside). The floor and area around the soda fountain were dirty and they seemed understaffed for the amount of people there. Overall if I’m really craving specifically fried chicken I may come back, but I think I’ll stick with chick fil a

I went through drive thru today and ordered a family meal of strips, asked for sauces and got 2 for a 12 piece meal... why do you guard the sauce with your life? Then I get home and the strips aren't even strips. Bone-in chicken. What a waste of money and time. Then when you call they say it's your fault. I specified my order was strips. Yes I should have checked before leaving but I have a screaming baby in the car. Do better Popeyes.
