McAlister's Deli has a lot happening all at once that earn it all five stars from me. First, they have a descriptive, focused menu around a set of items they offer variations on. Namely: Salads, soups, sandwiches and spuds. They fully list the ingredients on the menu for every item, and they also include a calorie estimate for all items and combinations, which is invaluable to someone as food conscious as me. Also, the general focus of the menu is nice; specialty makes a menu attractive.
Second, and perhaps most important, the food was excellent every time I've gone. The quality and consistent delivery every time has been a uniquely pleasant experience.
The last time I went I ordered a Pick Two, a combo promotion they do so you can choose half portions of two selections among almost all of the menu items(some 'premium' items have a surcharge for the deal, but its all very reasonable). My Pick Two has been several combinations across my visits, but my last and favorite thus far has been a King Club with no tomato, and the Chef Salad also without tomato. I wasn't in the mood for tomato; what can I say?
Still, I ate the salad without dressing - which is a complement, and the sandwich was delectable front to back.
I paid a little over 10 dollars for the combo, and that pairing was over half my food for the day and high protein to boot. I've been satisfied everytime I've gone.
As for the service, there is tableside, but you do order your food before siting. It's then brought out to where you choose to sit, and your drinks and any requests you have are minded by staff. They've always been attentive and catering to me, but as always with service that experience will probably vary more than...
Read moreI love McAllisters but the last several times I have been to this location have been terrible. They ALWAYS forget something.. Most recently on 10/4 I ordered dinner for my family around 8:30PM. I picked up my food and made the mistake of not checking it because I had one more errand and I knew my kids were hungry. I called the store 10 minutes before they closed (yes, I know it’s irritating, I have worked for several restaurants) I just wanted to let the manager know this has been a normal reoccurrence for me. The manager informs me that they did NOT forget my potato salad or kids meal cookie but they were out of those items and nobody told me or offered me a replacement side. The best thing the manager offered was for me to come pick up some potato salad the next day because they were closing up and she apologized Seriously? Like I’m going to drive almost 20 minutes the next day for potato salad? I hate to be a “Karen” but I am a manager of customer success, anytime a client has an issue I do everything within my power to make it right, even at closing time if it’s due to my team making a mistake. I will not be back to this location even for the...
Read moreMy family used to get takeout here pretty regularly but for the last several months every time we got takeout the order was wrong or missing items. Tonight we did not get our potato salad or chili (which we paid extra for). I've called before about missing items and they always tell me I can come back and get the item but instead of doing the 30 minute drive to the restaurant and back I finally decided to post a review about it.... We had started checking our bags before leaving and informed them of what was missing as this has been happening for a while but the last three times the person who ordered was not the person who picked up the order so they weren't totally sure what to check for. Regardless, McAlister's used to be our go to takeout restaurant but I guess we will be finding a new go to for...
