Went to Butch's Uptown restaurant to celebrate my sister going back to college next week and had by far the worst experience.
My wife, 2yo toddler, brother, and sister all visited this establishment at around 630pm. We were greeted immediately but that's where the kind hospitality ended. We were seated and waitress took our drink order. But the Waitress didn't know there menu items or drinks provided in their own menu. The waitress literally took the menu and began reading from it word for word when we asked her questions. She did state tho that it was a new menu so I didn't think much of it. In any case the waitress took our drink order and left but then didn't return to our table for 20 minutes. We waited patiently but not one of there staff members came to our table to make sure our order was taken.
Waitress came back after we had to flag her down before she went into the kitchen, stills not checking on us. Wet ordered and was told they were busy even tho we can clearly see that this was not the case as 3/4 of there seats were empty. In any case we ordered food.
While we waited for our order another group from the table next to us struck up a conversation telling us they had waited a total of over an hour to get there food. Still not wanting to be rude we decided to wait it out.
After waiting for over another 1 hour we couldn't take it anymore.
I had to ask another waitress to find our waiter so that we can get there food to go. My son was dead tired, wife was disappointed, and I clearly could tell we had made a bad decision coming to this restaurant. It had been about 2 hours and still we had no food and no notification it update ofon wh it was coming out.
We finally had to ask to have the food to go. Waitress have no apologies for the long wait and didn't even have the decency to check in on us after being told we need the food to go. The manager eventually came to our table and apologized for the inconvenience. Gave us $20 off our check and a ice cream dessert.
We still paid our bill and tipped the waitress for her services but I have never had such horrible service in my life.
So we eventually left the restaurant hungry and disappointed in the service.
I highly suggest you do not visit Butch's Uptown Restaurant. In totally we spent almost 2 hours and 15 minutes and we went home to it cold food that ended up being subs par and had a bad experience. Do...
Read moreWe had a horrible experience here.
The place is so, so loud! We were a group of 8 so we expected things to take a little bit longer, but we waited over an hour for our food.
When the food came out, it was three dinners. We waited. There more came out after a few minutes. A few minutes later, the 7th dinner came out. Still one missing. We waited and waited. We were able to grab a wait staff and ask about the 8th dinner. She came back saying they were still cooking it! After 10 minutes after the 7th dinner came out, the 8th dinner was served
Needless to say, all of our dinners were cold by the time we started eating. Two of us did not receive the correct sides. I ordered the steak tips they were horrible. Two people ordered the prime rib. It was way too fatty. They took most home for their dogs. (The people that ordered pasta dinners did enjoy their meals.)
The hostess came by shortly after the last dinner was served. She asked how things were. I said, "not going " She said,"that's nice to hear " My husband said, "I don't think you heard what my wife said ". He started to tell her how long we had to wait, that it took particularly long for one dinner, and that dinners had the wrong sides.
The hostess yells,"don't you yell at me!" My husband was not yelling but you did have to speak loudly just to be heard!
With the hostess yelling, some guy comes over and is eying my husband. Angry at this point, my husband, now yelling, says to the guy, "what are you looking at?" Red shirt guy walks away
Next comes a guy I thought was the cook. Turns out it was the owner. He is right up at my husband telling my husband that he xaanit talk to his staff that way. The way this guy was right up on my husband and the way he was looking at him, I thought he (owner( was going to fight my husband!
I wish they would have kicked us out. That would have saved us the $400+ bill and a horrible dinner!
The waitress was very apologetic and did tell the owner what happened between my husband and the hostess.

Read moreWhile this has always been my favorite restaurant for prime rib, I'm compelled to write a review because of the service last night. I promised 5 friends an outstanding choice of food, but I raved about a dessert they made in particular. Our waiter was phenomenal, attentive (on top of our drinks getting low) and when it came time for dessert everyone was stuffed...but honestly there's always a little room for a little sweet if we share. He started to tell us their desserts and when I interrupted & proclaimed I'd save him the breath, he told me they no longer carried the warm brownie ganache sundae. Thinking he was pulling my leg everyone laughed! When I realized he wasn't joking, everyone laughed harder! With no chocolate choices (and truthfully being full) I sat there heartbroken having waited all day for this. There was another large group behind us celebrating a birthday & had given our server a slice of chocolate cake! Didn't he go back into the kitchen & bring it out to me with 2 forks to share! When a server gives up his own dessert to make a customer happy, they need to be acknowledged! He refused to let me say no and made the dining experience exceptional! On the way out, one of the owners promised to bring the dessert back to the menu but in the meantime I encourage you to dine here for the food AND...
