Oriental Garden — Restaurant in Haverhill

Went there for karaoke. The site says 8pm to 1am. Got there a little after 830 and there was a few people Signed up to sing but the DJ was not behind the booth. After about 20 mins he comes in and welcomes the people there to karaoke. So he obviously didn't start at 8. After 3 or 4 singers he puts on a set of regular music and walks off for about 5 songs before coming back to continue karaoke. He then finishes off the karaoke rotation which was 4 singers and puts another set of regular music and walks away. After waiting for around 20 or so mins people started leaving most likely cause this guy within a 2 hrs time had only put up 8 singers. He then comes back and starts the next rotation which is now about 1030 he puts up 3 singers and then puts regular music up and walks off again. He comes about about 11 finishes the rotation when is down to 4 cause the others just got tired of waiting. And then puts up a set of regular music and walks off yet again after about 30 mins of waiting we went to the bar area and the DJ was not to be seen till 12. I talked to the waitress and she also noticed he was constantly walking off. I will never go...

For my hubby and I, Oriental Garden in the Westgage Shopping plaza in Haverhill, MA has some of the freshest and best tasting (American style) Chinese food around! We went there again last night and were so happy we did! Our dishes were amazing! The gravy on their egg foo young is my fave ever. Their terrible beef sticks are so tender and flavorful! The fried rice was a little on the dry side last night, but the char su pork inside was delish. We got a new dish, first time trying. A Chow foon with beef and gravy, that was one of my most fave dishes I’ve ever tasted. No joke. And we got another stir fried char su pork dish with gravy that was also really good. I was surprised that it wasn’t packed in there on a Friday night! They’ve been open for almost 50 years. They’ve got it down. Oriental Garden is well worth the visit. Awful. A large group of well dressed friends went together after a wake. This is usually a slightly ghetto bar at night and my husband didn’t even want to go but we did to stay with our friends. To start with the bartenders are flat affected. The bathrooms are beyond disgusting and this was only 5 pm. But then the robocop bouncer( after he finished straightening the straws) felt our friend was too loud and kicked him out. This friend just lost his brother came and said goodbye to all of us and left so our other friend nice, calm and politely went to this bouncer to just explain that this man had just lost his brother, but as he did, he touched the nutty bouncers arm in a personable gesture so that became an issue. Immediately he said “now you’re out. You touched me. That’s aggressive “. Really? It was nuts. This guy fails at life. Wait til he sees the real crowd that place gets later on in the night. They’ll...
