Christine's Deli — Restaurant in Hawaii

Omg go there NOW or order for delivery!!!! This little local deli is the cat’s MEOOOWWWW! Today I ordered the new special-roast beef pepper jack sub-what an explosion of flavor in my pie hole! Simply amazing!!! Hubby ordered the Italian with double meat and extra oil n vinegar-he had to wash his hands after-which was how it should be! AND boy was it double meat!!!! Their house macaroni salad, made just how I like it-so dang yummy!!!! And for my sweet tooth, we got lemon bars and extra soft brownies-made right there in the shop! When I say those lemon bars were as good as my mom’s-well you know only moms know the secret recipes to make the perfect lemon bars and PERFECT they were! Simply delectable! They also have delivery, so even if you can’t get to them, they can bring to you-door dash!!!! Don’t miss out on this hidden gem of a local deli!!! There’s a great tea shop and great little bougie retail clothing/specialty shop...

Came to get takeout Ruben sandwich and home made Mac salad today. Absolutely wonderful!! The staff was super friendly and attentive, Christine was busy hands on working ,as an owner should be, but not to busy to tell me about her home made products. I used to manage a deli in Oregon, everything also made from scratch. You don't find this often in today's busy world as home made is labor intensive. My sandwich was meaty, cheesy, oh so Ono (yummy!). The macaroni salad was ever so fresh. Crunchy veggies and fresh herbs made it delectable. Only 3 weeks left at our Big Island home but we will definitely be back and rate this establishment 11 on a 1-10 scale!! Mahalo...

Worth the trip. Home made sandwiches, Delivery available through a second party. Christine is great. Fairly slow but too much emphasis on speed in today's society anyway and people are stressed and speed addicted (not the drug). Talk to Christine. She will chat while she's making your excellent sandwich. Prices are pretty decent especially for the quality you're getting. Located in a back street kind of Kona location with minimal parking, but the place has character partly for that reason. Big Island Revealed, the best Big Island book, should review this place so Christine gets more exposure with the tourists...but that may or may not be...
