Five Stars Just Isn’t Enough for This Brew-tiful Place— Julianna Takes the Cake for best barista ever!

I walked into this coffee shop just looking for caffeine, but left with a renewed sense of purpose—and maybe a mild addiction to oat milk lattes. The real MVP of the experience? Julianna.

She’s like the Beyoncé of baristas. Friendly, fast, and somehow knew exactly what I needed before I did. (Is she a coffee psychic? Possibly. I won’t question it.) I asked for something to wake me up, and she handed me a cup of pure magic that had me ready to run a marathon or at least answer my emails without crying.

The vibes? Immaculate. The coffee? Life-changing. The service? Julianna. Enough said.

10/10, will return until they legally make...

Great tasting locally grown coffee and espresso. Their drinks are also super aesthetic and photogenic, especially the lily special or anything with ube. They also have really cute clothes, I’m obsessed with my hoodie! They give discounts if you wear any HICO gear so it’s worth it to buy the clothes. They serve cocktails too that are all really unique and yummy as well as some really tasty food. I love the turkey sandwich and the bagel sandwiches at the down south location. My favorite drink is anything with the ube sweet cream, but I also love trying all their monthly specials! I love the atmosphere of the shops too. Lots of plants and cool artwork. Lastly they always hold cool events like workshops or marketplaces. Definitely...

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this café! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for relaxing or getting a little work done. The coffee was rich, smooth, and made with real care—you can taste the quality in every sip.

A special shoutout to the barista, who went above and beyond. Not only was my drink prepared perfectly, but their attention to detail and genuine friendliness made the visit feel personal and memorable. It’s rare to find someone who can make you feel both valued as a customer and at home as a guest.

I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this spot to friends. If you’re looking for excellent coffee and outstanding service, this is the place to go!

When we stayed on Big Island we would often pass by Waikoloa village and stop at Hico for a quick bite and a good coffee. They have convenient outside and inside seating. Very relaxing spot with birds and beautiful trees all around. Plenty of parking. This time we are staying in the nearby village and can come every day. We found that they also have yummy açai smoothie bowls. We enjoy them every day while the weather is hot. They seem really fresh. I also absolutely love iced ube latte - so creamy and pretty too. Definitely recommend this place.

Mainlander visiting the big island and always on the lookout for good coffee. One of my favorite aspects of HiCO is that you can choose between a Hawaiian blend or Kona espresso. I have only been able to try a latte with each type of espresso and an everything bagel. The Kona espresso latte was the stand out for me. The everything bagel was great, reminded me of the bagels I got from Liberty Bagels in New York City. The staff was extremely nice and professional.
