We were staying just up the street, so we ordered breakfast from here multiple times. It is still takeout only, so you stand in line to order, then pay when your order is ready, and they only take cash. The lines can be long, but it's hit and miss. It never took more than maybe 15 minutes to get our food. Also, for those wondering, there isn't anywhere to sit and eat your food, so plan to take it somewhere to eat (Hukilau Beach Park is just across the street.) I'm not normally a pancake person, but these are some of the best pancakes I've ever had. The corned beef hash was almost like my mom used to make it when I was a kid. My only complaints are that some of the potatoes in my hash browns weren't cooked through; and they don't allow modifications to menu items (for example, I wanted to pay to add macadamia nuts to my banana pancakes and they wouldn't let me) I'm sure for ease of speed in the small kitchen. Overall, the staff was friendly, food is good, and prices are really fair for a "famous" place.

Five stars for Hukilau Cafe! We devoured a fantastic breakfast here this morning. The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was a classic done right: fluffy eggs, crispy bacon, melty cheese, and all tucked into a perfectly toasted roll. The ham and cheese grilled sandwich was a symphony of savory ham and tangy cheese toasted to golden perfection. But the star of the show was the French toast. Light and fluffy with a touch of sweetness, it melted in our mouths. And let's not forget the breakfast potatoes! They were a revelation - crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. Every bite was a delight. Hukilau Cafe is a must-visit if you're in the Laie area. The friendly staff, delicious food (especially those potatoes!), and relaxed atmosphere will leave you feeling happy and satisfied.

I was their first customer on December 27. Firstly, If you look around you realize you are in a real community neighborhood spot. A beloved restaurant situated within a loving community. Secondly, the service was so warm and friendly and welcoming. The wait time was brief and everyone was thrilled with their breakfast. Portuguese sausage was outstanding. Pancakes were slammin'! Loco Moco was terrific!! If you are looking for an authentic friendly place, this is a bit of a hidden gem, especially considering the area. Would highly recommend a stop here. I ate many places on the island-- including high end restaurants like at the Four Seasons etc. Hukilau Cafe was hands down my favorite!

This is the name of the cafe in the movie 50 first dates but it not in the movie. Good food no air conditioning was hot inside. good thing we got food to go. Ordered hamburger steak with gravy and onions, chicken Katsu and Teri beef with rice and Mac salad... food was good katsu was a little over cooked. Also Teri beef, shrimp and fish. Fish had a fishy taste smell all in all food was good. We were there at 1 and they were out of beef stew. Go early for the stew heard it is good. Shaka bra!!🤙🏼

Came well recommended from a friend, and we arrived hungry. It is definitely a "hole in the wall", we stood in the street to order, and waited in the street for the same order. Service was adorable and responsive. My wife even plied for the "secret ingredient" and engaged a fun conversation. I tried the Loco Moco which is a local favorite, and I LOVE gravy which is a primary ingredient for Loco Moco. Overall, the food was ok. The ambiance was a street. Probably won't repeat.

Found this takeout restaurant while on our way to the beach. We stopped and ordered POG juices, fried rice, hungry Hawaiian plate and of course their famous banana pancakes. For a Saturday morning the wait wasn't bad at all, maybe 15 minutes at most. The food was still warm when we got to the beach and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend trying them at least once if you are near there while visiting Oahu!
