Locally sourced ingredients and good burgers (if they happen to make it correctly), but that’s the ONLY saving grace. The young lady at the register was not friendly at all and seemed to be the root of the problem. We waited about 30 minutes for our food. During that time we observed multiple people come up and state that something was missing from their order (fries, etc.). When we finally got our order, we noticed that they completely neglected to make my brother’s burger. We let the lady at the front know and she said they’d make it.
In the meantime as the rest of us ate our food, we noticed that they neglected to include multiple toppings on our burgers. Mine was supposed to include bacon, which is an extra charge that I paid for and didn’t get. My burger was also supposed to include wasabi Mayo which I didn’t get. My father asked for mushrooms on his, which he didn’t get. My mother asked for baby greens which she didn’t get. Finally, when my brother got the burger that they initially forgot to make, he noticed that they didn’t even include the egg on top that he ordered. We had 4 burgers and not one of them was made correctly, not to mention they didn’t even make one. Had we not checked the bag before we left my brother wouldn’t have had lunch to eat.
This took place on 7/12/21 at 1:30pm. If a manager reads this, I highly recommend that you have a discussion with the girl who was working up front, as she’s having a material impact on the success of the business. Terrible attitude aside, she isn’t even performing her job correctly and it’s leaving...
Read moreThis place is so good! I'm very picky when it comes to how well done I like my patties, but they get it right every time. I live in Hilo but literally drive to Waimea just to get their burgers. It's a little pricey but worth it. Let me tell you why I give it 4 stars... For one it's because the high price point and sometimes the truffle fries are a little too salty, but nothing unbearable. Also, and most important, the reason I like coming here is because the beef patties taste like REAL BEEF! I know that's something obvious to point out but it literally tastes like cow in a good way, and that's how you know the meat is fresh and well maintained. I can taste a difference in the meat from their burgers vs other burger places. It's not the same. For the times I went, staff was friendly. My first time ever going was a couple months ago and was a little overwhelmed on what I should try as a first impression. The lady taking my order was very nice in explaining how their ordering process works. I like how they don't have too many burger options itself, but instead a "build your own burger" type of thing which I really like because I'm the pickiest person ever and love customization options. The kinds of add-ons for burgers is something you can't find anywhere...
Read moreThe cashier was pretty bad, and the cooks didn't seem to do much better.
For starters the cashier misled us on what comes on the burgers by saying they don't normally come with mayonnaise. When we asked if the burgers came with any sauce, we were explicitly told that they have no sauce. Despite me specifically asking for tomatoes on the side and them saying they understood, they ended up ringing it in as Mayo on the side, so I had to pull the tomato off and just deal with the tomato taste (because it took over ten minutes to make and we were trying to get it to go). Thankfully I don't have an allergy so it was only making the taste worse.
When we finally get to the burgers themselves, despite the menu SPECIFICALLY dictating to request how well you like your burger done, I got it medium-well to well-done instead of my requested medium rare. The burger tasted as overcooked as it looked, and I regretted getting the double bacon cheeseburger due to the poorly cooked patties. The bacon, cheese, and bun were all pretty good, but they couldn't save the experience from the other parts of the meal.
This could all possibly be acceptable if the price was better, but for a 12+ dollar burger without including fries or a drink, I'd say it's a hard pass and you should...
