I stayed here for one night while on a work trip. After a 12 hour work day, I get to my room( 1 of the very few non remodeled rooms) at 1030pm. I go to take a shower and get roughly 45 seconds of hot water, before it turns ice cold. Waimea is colder and it was rainy that night. After taking an ice shower, I go to get under the blankets to get warm and when I pull back my comforter and flat sheet, I find dirty sheets that had not been changed from the prior guest! I contact Kamuela Inn on the messaging service from google immediately. Roughly 10 minutes later I get a response which states they cannot control the water temps and that id get a discount on the room and a free upgrade for next trip. NO ONE APOLOGIZED for dirty sheets! How does a lodging service allow this and then not accept responsibility for DIRTY SHEETS???? This is unacceptable, needless to say...I will not stay there again. I am a Hawai'i resident also. Kamuela Inn...I would hope if nothing else, you teach your staff to clean and change sheets, as well as better customer service...The service was as appalling as the lodging. If I could give ZERO stars...believe me, I would.
EDIT:To the owner that replied: My review is 100% accurate and if you'd like, I am posting screen shots of the conversation for you. Please show me where you detailed all of the other items you outlined in your response. You did NOT address DIRTY sheets. And your reasoning for wrinkles only where 2 people would have slept is ridiculous. Giving a discount for that kind of stay is the least you can do. Issues cannot be resolved if the ones responsible for the issues deny they exist. Im sorry that you feel the need to somehow justify the sheets, however I know what I saw, and have zero reason to say anything...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow. It isnāt very often that I have been so impressed with accommodations that Iām anxious to write a review. When the airline changed the date of our flight, we were left without a place to stay for one night. I refused to pay the shameless, grossly inflated rates at any of the hotels at the South Kohala resorts. I found the Kamuela Inn online and noted the very good reviews. So, we decided to give it a try. ||From the moment we arrived until we checked out, we were treated so kindly. Every employee we met went out their way to be helpful and kind. The young man at the front desk was so friendly and helpful when we checked in. Our room was spotlessly clean, very spacious and nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable. ||We were pleasantly surprised to learn that breakfast was included with our stay. The eggs, potatoes and bacon were fresh and hot. There was also a nice selection of cereals, breads, fruit, coffee, tea and other items. There was no need to go to a restaurant. ||In the back of the hotel there is a beautiful garden area to sit and listen to the birds and you're oblivious to being in the middle of a busy town. ||Finally, I have to mention just how wonderful Nalani was. She offered us assistance and provided suggestions that were so helpful. She made us feel very welcome. The Inn is so lucky to have her representing them. Thank you Nalani.||I would not hesitate to recommend the Kamuela Inn to anyone. Iām extremely picky about accommodations and cleanliness and it isnāt often that I feel a 5-star review is earned. In this case, it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI almost don't want to give a great review and just keep this place to myself. It was that great of a place to stay. The staff immediately makes you feel at home and available to answer questions and address your needs. I can't say enough good things about them. I stayed in a newly remodeled room. A queen that made me feel like queen of the rodeo. Perfect for someone traveling alone or a couple who needs a cozy respite. Larger rooms are available. The rain shower is perfect with great island products if you want to pack light. The sliding barn door to the bathroom and other designs are perfect touch and nothing overdone. The breakfast provides everything you need to get you going. Hot and cold items. And fresh papaya. Coffee, tea and juices. The snacks at the day are perfect also with miso instant soup or oatmeal. Plus hot coffee and tea. The garden patio in the back is perfect shelter from the wind and great place for quiet and to absorb some vitamin D in the sun and read a book. Having a patio table outside my room was welcome also. I extended my stay by two days. Only difficulty was finding the turn off but not the inn's fault as city keeps signage to minimum. The inn sets back off the main road which makes it feel more of an oasis so that's a good thing. Take note of the business at entrance will help you find the turn after a day out sightseeing. Also offers a military...
