This was the first farmers market we went to and it was near our accommodations in waikoloa village. It turned out the be one of the best as compared with Kona and Hilo too. I estimate there were 30-40 stalls. A great mixture of art, health, agriculture products but it also had about half a dozen food stands that really complemented the market. The food stands were Thai, BLT sandwiches, frittata, smoothie, crepe+tamale, sausages….all were busy feeding many happy customers (frittata stand usually has 30-40 minute wait beware) this market got bumped up to 5stars bc food stalls and artists made real self-created beautiful products (not cheap china made mass produced junk) Hilo had the best quality and cheapest fruit stalls and was the biggest farmers market. Kona and Waimea were more expensive and not quite as good quality produce. Kona had less stalls(us it because it’s January? I recalled more in past visits)

Instagram: @Konafoodie Waimea Town Market at Parker School stands as one of our most cherished farmers markets on this island. Offering an array of fresh fruits, açaí bowls, homemade treats, and breakfast delights. Our routine entails Saturday mornings, arriving promptly as it opens. The people here are remarkable talented and are delightful to engage in conversation with. Moreover, the center of the market features local musicians, enhancing the ambiance. The spirit of kindness holds immense significance in Hawaii, making it a worthwhile experience to drop by, share some Aloha, and actively support our local farmers and vendors.

Why Waimea needs to have more then one Saturday market is well beyond my pay grade. I don’t like this markets location because I live on Lindsey Rd I get overwhelmed by the amount of traffic the market creates on a Saturday. When there’s a sporting event at the park it’s horrible. It’s off a main highway through town across from the public park. Before anymore activity goes on this needs to be addressed. It would be safer to have the market on parker schools field behind the original campus. Of course people would have a hard time finding it but inevitably there’s going to be an accident due to the poor location. I don’t think the vendors care if it’s overcrowded because that’s when...

My husband and I enjoy going to the market to get our fried taco fix at Tammy's Tamales. Reasonably priced, and Tammy has great customer service because she doesnt forget her "regulars" or new customers who soon become regulars. We also grab some Lava Bites as we leave the market as our dessert. Fluffy dough bites that makes me wonder about the taste of a beignet (french-style doughnut). Must try! They offer a choice of drizzles: honey butter, Nutella and lilikoi butter to name a few. Priced reasonably. There is a vendor specializing in Raclette cheese topped dishes. There is more to the market than just food, and there are other varieties of food to choose from, but these are...
