Wailoa Grill — Restaurant in Hawaii

I loved this new place, big portions for the price, incredible cheeseburger, and fish and chips the best I've ever had, even better than the ones in California; ahi belly super fresh as they receive it directly from Suisan Fresh Market Fish caught in the morning every day. Unbeatable location just a few steps from Liliʻuokalani Gardens, a beautiful park, perfect for getting a fish and chips or a portion of calamari and eating in the park looking at the ocean and with the beautiful view of Mauna Kea and the fact that they serve all orders in disposable packaging makes it even easier for those of us who just want to grab a snack and go for a walk around the park or around the city, plenty of parking options...

Went on Thur. 8/7/25 for lunch. Had the Lichon Kalbi combo. Terrible! The Lichon was dried out, hard and chewy, and dipping sauce was already mixed into Lichon, by cooks! Kalbi was tough and old tasting! I don't know what happened to this place, in just 1 week difference! The 1st time we tried here was on 7/26/25. Nicole who took our order was awesome and professional. The Asian Chef who made my Lechon Kalbi Combo that time, created a perfectly outside crispy skin, and inside moist and flavorful lechon pieces, with a "separate" dipping sauce in one of those tiny round containers! And his creation of Kalbi was tender and sweet. Next time, I'll peek into kitchen to see...

Love this little place! Dined in on a late Sunday morning. Food was fresh and delicious and the portions were generous. We had the ono plate and the hamburger steak plate. (Note: They said the ahi belly sold out soon after they opened for the day, so get there early. Lol) Seating and parking were limited but workable - a lot of people were doing carry out. There was a line, but it only took about 15-20 minutes from when we arrived till we were served. The workers were really friendly and efficient and the area was clean....
