Mom's Donuts — Restaurant in Hawthorne

I’ve ordered from this place through a food delivery company twice and both times were not so great. First time I ordered, they made my iced coffee with what looked like old milk, it had little white chunks of something. I did not end up drinking it and then the ham & cheese croissant I ordered was stiff and stale which I also threw away. I didn’t file a complaint or get my money back because I didn’t want to be rude. Second time, which is today, I ordered a regular hot coffee, a ham & cheese croissant and a donut for my coworker and my croissant was not in the bag, instead they gave me a regular donut. Then the cup that the coffee came in was dripping so I had to transfer my coffee to a water bottle. Whoever owns that shop needs to get on their employees about the orders, at least the ones that go through the food delivery companies. This is not okay and it’s frustrating....

Came in after spending some time up early and needing something to munch on, this place happened to be nearby and felt Iike revisiting them, haven't been here since my high school years which is around 2016

As soon as I walked in I was greeted and recognized to my surprise. Which made me feel welcomed with open arms immediately, and in a good mood.

Had a croissant sandwich and a strawberry doughnut with strawberry nesquik. The croissant was surprisingly flaky, soft, and the flavor of all the ingredients, it's a lovely bite

The doughnut wasn't too sweet, or too chewy, just right. Overall, love seeing a local place reopen and nothing but love and respect for the people working here being as hard working and cheerful as they are, even at the time I came in, at 6 am....

The location is 24 hours and clean, but the doughnuts themselves are below average. I got a chocolate cake doughnut, a cinnamon honey-wheat doughnut and a cream cheese muffin.

Only the icing on the chocolate doughnut had flavor, the doughnut itself had no flavor. The cinnamon honey-wheat was weird and seemed not quite done on the inside (too doughy/chewy). The cream cheese muffin was as expected: strange. I ate around the top area that had the cream cheese because the appearance and texture were off-putting.

I am crazy about doughnuts, but I don't think I'll come back to...
