Very inconsistent and often terrible/rude service.. very hit or miss. Today we tried to get chocolate and strawberry, strawberry on the bottom and chocolate on top. The older lady rudely informed me they don’t do that, in a very short and condescending tone. We have been coming here for years and gotten this in the past. They had some weird explanation about amounts dispensed. I said maybe it was a different size I had gotten in the past, to no avail. Eventually I tried to ask when they stopped. She had terrible customer service and refused to engage in any sort of discussion, instead she just rudely shut the conversation down by rudely and shortly, in an angry tone telling me they don’t do that. As if they had never done that. We have gotten it this way over 20 times. Why she was getting angry at me for asking a simple question is beyond me. I was very confused and blindsided by her hostility. You don’t expect this sort of behavior when you are trying to enjoy quality time and take your daughter to get ice cream! Very disappointing.

Additionally, be careful regarding the prices. Depending who is there they will over charge or ring things up incorrectly resulting in very increased cost. This was the case with the strawberry malt I get from there. The owner corrected eventually observed this and corrected the individual, significantly reducing the price asked. However I had purchased it about 10 times prior at the higher price. I had previously inquired and the individual claimed both malt and strawberry were considered toppings. Although I tried to point out that the title was “Shakes & Malts” and I was getting a strawberry malt. The individual had claimed they were going to change the sign.. I don’t believe that individual works there anymore though, as it’s been a couple years since I last saw the person. But still be careful, their staff are...

Ever since one of my best friends and his family acquired Swirlies back in March, the ice cream has always been top notch. The service has always been quick and efficient, The employees are super friendly, And I absolutely love the constant ongoing specials, which makes me keep on constantly coming back for more. My favorite special is their current special going on right now, which is their take on a root beer float with a 711 slurpee twist. They call it the Root Beer Volcano and it is by far the greatest root beer float I have ever had in my entire life if you can even call it that. I have seen many reviews in which people would constantly complain about expensive everything is and those people need to get a life because compared to the several hundred ice cream places that I have been to across the DMV, this is by far the cheapest. It only gets expensive if you overload your ice cream with toppings because they charge you for each toping so just either stick to the menu or keep it simple if you don’t want to spend a lot of money.
