CLEAN GRILL AWARD 🥇 given to this restaurant !! In Hayward looking for property. Needed a great breakfast to keep us rolling all day. We chose Hayward Family Restaurant on Monday morning March 28, 2022 around 10:15 am. Place was steady and rockin. We ordered a couple standard breakfasts. The Polish Sausage breakfast with 2eggs over easy, toast and hash browns. We also ordered eggs over easy with bacon and hash browns. With the order came a side of pancakes and two slices of Texas toast. Amazing. Food. Took no more than 12 minutes for our food to arrive steaming hot and presented as you’d expect from an old school diner. Eggs were showing us clean fried edges meaning a clean grill. Hash browns splendidly browned and toast & pancakes piping hot. On the way out we must have paid the owner. I told him: “It’s so very clean..” his answer “My family eats here” Highly recommended.

We received this restaurant as a recommendation after our visit at the fresh after fishing hall of fame and they were correct. This restaurant was wonderful. We were immediately greeted with a warm and friendly manner and even though it was a busy Saturday we got a table right away. Our server was very friendly and attentive without being overly pushy. The food was phenomenal. The Mediterranean chicken sandwich wad very tasty and the BLT club was unlike any sandwich I've ever had. The bacon was top notch and cooked to the perfect texture. The cheesecurds were different than anything I've ever had and thats saying something. The had the crunch of a panko breading with the fry and consistency of a battered cheesecurd. If you are ever in Hayward I would reccomend giving this place a try.

Perfectly cooked eggs....grilled ham off the bone.....crispy hash browns, as ordered. Breakfast was perfect, except....no maple syrup, in the house. As a hypoglycemic patient, I am able to tolerate small amounts of natural sugars, such as honey, fruits and maple syrup. Hayward has many, many maple sugar processors. Is there a law perhaps, that won't allow pure maple syrup to be used? (I am sincerely asking this question....not being a smart-alec.) I did not remove any stars for the lack of maple syrup because my breakfast and service were above what I expected. We eat here whenever we travel to the Northwoods. The locals eat here, too.

So we came with a group of 21!! We called ahead at around 9:00... By the time we arrived at 11:00 they had a table for 16 ready and a booth next to it! They were more than accommodating from the moment we walked in! I never saw our server get frustrated, even though half of our party was children! He was so patient and quick! Service was excellent, the food all came out together and was warm. Everything was delicious! I had cheese curds and homemade chicken and dumplings soup. Would totally recommend and we will be coming back!
