This is my first visit to Red Chili Thai. I ordered green curry (med spice), brown rice, and pad thai. The only reason I am giving 1 star is because I waited less than 10mins from the time I ordered to the time the food arrived on my table. Very fast! However if you're expecting customer service with a smile or the wait staff to acknowledge you're there, this is not the place for you. No one ever smiled or thanked me or asked how my meal was or tended to me beyond taking my order and bringing my food. The food was mediocre, nothing special. The atmosphere was annoying and loud. The patrons let their kids be loud and misbehave which led me to believe they have little respect for this place. When I was first seated, the waitress sloppily cleared a table for me, leaving food on the table and a used napkin and fork on the floor by my feet. Luckily, the other waitress that brought my silverware and water picked them up. As I waited for my food and observed the rest of the restaurant, it was obvious why the staff had very little time for customer service. The waitresses are multi-tasking, acting as the hostess, bussing tables, taking orders, and taking payment. I used the bathroom and it was very run down and dingy. There didn't seem to be any pride or cleanliness of ownership in this place. The food was averagely priced and the parking was convenient but I'm grasping at straws to find any other positives. Needless to say, I will not...

Disappointing. 3 stars for food. 1 star for service.

Got the Pad Ma-Khuer lunch special, which came with soup of the day, salad, and rice. Everything tasted above average. However the menu described it as sauteed ground beef with veggies. It was more like a bowl of veggies sprinkled with crumbs of ground beef. Not too impressed.

Regarding service, here was the timeline of our meal. Arrive and get promptly seated (no complaints there). Wait 2-3 min before getting glasses of water. Wait another 5 min before getting menus. Decide on what to order within 2 min. Wait 6-8 min before someone noticed we were patiently waiting with our menus closed. Order dishes. Wait 15 min for two plain spring rolls to be sent out (some of the thinnest springs rolls I've ever had...). Wait another 15 min for two small bowls of soup to be ladled out of a giant prepared stockpot. Wait another 10 min for the actual meal to come out. Consume everything in 10 min.

tl;dr waited 1 hour, ate 12 min

If this was fine dining, I would probably expect the wait. But the meal was pretty much rolling some lettuce and meat together, scooping soup, and tossing some veggies in a saute pan (with the meat crumbs of course). The waiters/waitresses never came by to do anything but to drop off dishes (no water refills, no "sorry your meal will take a bit longer," no...

This is the worst restaurant ever! I have come with my family many times and they always mess up my order. My wife is severely allergic to egg and mushroom, so we always inform them however they always seem to forget. I have given them several chances and this time they have taken it to far.I had order from this restaurant as my family loves the cuisine.bed specifically said vegetarian no egg and mushroom for every item that I had ordered and even checked afterwards to confirm of the fact. However when my daughter went and checked the food when we got there it was full of shrimp in the avocado rolls and mushrooms in the yellow curry and egg in the herbal lettuce wrap.we talked to the lady quite nicely and explained the situation but she didn’t listen and just kept saying that it was not her fault and they did what they were told even when I showed her the proof that we had said no meat and etc she just denied the fact and said “Don’t talk to me like that” I was shocked at the fact and since she said was not willing to cooperate I had just called the business afterwards where she was just being very rude. I used to love this restaurant and they used to have great customer service but now I will never go back to this one place again l. I hope I can help others avoid this problem...

Red Chili has some really awesome lunch deals that make it all worthwhile if you happen to come during the week. They have a lot of vegan friendly items which made me happy. While they aren't clearly marked anymore on the menu (minus the vegan egg rolls), you can ask the staff to make the item vegan and it's usually not an issue. I went with the Tofu Green Curry Lunch Special ($15) which included a small vegan-friendly soup, salad, rice, and main. The curry I had was very flavorful with lots of tofu and veggie pieces included. The soup was a nice touch so next time, I'd probably order a different main to offset having so much liquid during my meal. I also ordered their Vegan Egg Rolls ($9) which came with six half-pieces of fried taro, vermicelli noodles, and veggies wrapped rolls. Loved these! They also do Thai Iced Tea with boba ($6) and were able to use coconut milk to make it vegan friendly for me. Service was friendly but there wasn't much checking in after we received our food. You pay up front and get any to-go containers there. Overall, very happy with our meal and would come back again. There is very limited parking in front but they have a small lot in the back that can be used.

Red Chili is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the East Bay! Their food is very flavorful, fresh, and authentic to my taste buds. I've tried a lot of items on the menu, and whether I've dined in or had takeout, this place never disappoints! My go-to's are the Roti Canai (an absolute must!) for the appetizer, Panag Curry with chicken, pineapple fried price, and lemon grass beef. There are plenty of other delicious options, so try them at your leisure! As for the pho and some of the other Vietnamese dishes, it's good, but not my favorite. In other words, if you're craving pho and your squad is already here, go for it. It's consistent and delicious enough, but I come here for the Thai food specifically. Overall, you'll get your South East Asian cravings completely satisfied one way or another. They have a large indoor dining area which I've never seen full but moderate filled. The service is fine, prices are fair considering it's 2020's. Have at it!
