Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Helena

Tonight my wife and I came in to get some dinner, we came in at about 8:30pm and were sat at a table with Jay as our server. We decided to get the 2 for 25. She got the cheeseburger with cheddar and I got the chicken and lime. Boy was that a mistake. The rice that came with the chicken and lime was like eating a bite of sand, it was so beyond dry that I even tried pouring some salsa that came with our spinach dip on it and it was still so dry it was inedible. The corners of the chicken were extremely burnt/charred and dry, The only good part of that dish was the tortilla strips.

My wife’s burger was so beyond burnt that she didn’t even eat half of it and the fries were cold and limp. She didn’t even touch the fries.

Our server seemed to try and ignore us after I tried to bring up the issues, he ignored me and ran away. Finally I asked for the manager and he wasn’t much better. He came out and picked at our food as if we were lying he asked “well have you ever had the chicken lime?” In an extremely rude tone. No I hadn’t but I’ve had rice before and I can’t tell you for absolute certainty it’s not supposed to taste like that. It tasted like rice a roni with no seasoning that sat in a pan for 8 hours. Anyways, the manager told us he was the one cooking and acted offended when I brought up these issues. He said he’d do something about it. Our server jay brought us a new check and he only took off 2 dollars.. I’ve never been so disappointed in a dining experience. I will never be coming back, and honestly save your money and go...

Okay so after 3 times giving this place a fair shake once again They fall short! Its hit and miss at its best! I order a Shrimp Parmesan steak. They steak was perfect cooked but it came out without the parmesan sauce on top my steak. So my waiter takes my steak back and brings out the same steak with some cold curdled up sauce. The Manager said he agreed that it wasn't how it's Supposed to be. So we gave it another try 1 week later and pretty much the same thing happened except this time they go back and bring out the Parmesan sauce that was hot and melted.Everything tastes delicious after that. And tonight we went in for a few drinks and just a Spinach dip. When it came out there was a clump of cheese in the top that was at least a 3/4 in thick. It was so hard you couldn't cut it with a spoon. And half the chips were broke into dime size pieces. Once again the same Manager said he agreed it was not made correctly. He also said he has never read the reviews on here! So how in the Blue Hell do you improve your services if you don't listen to customers feed back???? Definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over expecting a different result! 3 strikes and your out!

Ps. I eat at Apple Bees all across the Country. I know how a Parmesan steak is...

Although we never go in thinking you are going to get a gourmet meal most times we are pleased with our food and leave setisfied. Tonight... not so much, my pasta had the obvious appearance that had been sitting under a heat lamp for much too long and my husband's tacos (brisket tacos) where in his words "disgusting". 2 out of the 3 had absolutely no sauce and the last was swimming in it to the point it was inedible which is saying a lot because my husband is not picky. I brought this to the attention of our server because he really hates to complain but I felt the kitchen should no so the next guessed would not have the same problem. Our waitres did absolutely nothing to resolve the problem but say she was "sorry about that". She then came back to the table later when everyone else was almost finished eating and offers to have the kitchen remake them...What?!! If he would have accepted this much delayed offer we would have been there WAY too long for our 3 young children who where also dining with us. The check came and there was not even a discount for the meal my husband could not even finish. Gurrrrrr so frustrating!!! Stay away from the "brisket tacos" unless you perhaps ask for the sauce in the side so you can distribute it yourself ;) ;)
