Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Helena

Have not been to this location in Helena, AL in a while. My wife and I came here to get two double steak burgers to go on 6-13-2025. Order ID - AABATMZQAJAH. We were on a road trip and wanted something to take. Ordered and waited about 9 minutes to receive the order. Three minutes after pulling away with the order, my wife opened hers. Burger was just warm which is odd since it was supposedly just made. Yes they are smash burgers but the surface of it was just crumbly and super salty. Almost like the patty had been re-heated. She ate 2/3s and tossed it out the window. My burger was the same way, just warm and super salty. I have not experienced crumbly surface all over the top of both patties. The cheese was barely melted from a supposedly fresh cooked burger. I do not believe either were fresh and hot off the grill so to speak. Looking at the 3.8 ratings for this location I can see why our burgers were not that good. MIGHT try another location but...

We have been twice to the Helena location. The first time I went in to order take out because the drive-thru line was really long. A very nice young lady took my order very quickly, but I had to wait over 30 minutes to get the food. This past Sunday my wife and I used the drive-thru this time. I kid you not, it took an hour and 20 minutes to get our food. We would have left the line but could not get out because of the concrete walls. By the time we could actually get out of line we were 2 cars from the window. It should NEVER take that long to get food. The kids working the window were nice, but it appeared a lot of the workers were just standing around talking while the customers were waiting for their food. First time dining at the Helena Freddy's and overall it was a good experience. Burgers and fries were hot, fresh and prepared just as we ordered. We had sundaes after our meal and they were also prepared as we requested. I only gave 2 stars for the atmosphere because the napkin holders were empty and there were no straws at the drink service area. When I asked, I was directed to the front counter were I could find these items myself. I also absolutely detest country music - and it was blasting. I expected the staff to break out in a country line dance at any moment. Even the grill guy was tapping his spatula to the beat. Hey folks, this is not Texas Roadhouse. I will keep Freddy's on my list of places to dine again, but I believe I'll get my order to go so I don't have to be inundated by...
