One of the last remaining Helena staples, very kid friendly, yes it is a casino but has open booth seating on west side of building and unlike most casinos they have windows that let in light and you get to look outside. Great spot for sports and great thin crust style pizza, my kids devoured their pepperoni pizza. We came in hungry, our pizza was ready in 10 minutes, free refills on soda, let's just say we were very satisfied when we left.
Village Inn used to be a place for kid parties, they had a gaming area and used to be very popular back in the early 90's and before that. Other businesses came in and Village Inn never really updated their building or inside, so it started to decline in terms of being considered the go to kid friendly pizza spot. Over the years it eventually turned in to a straight up casino, which looking back was probably the better business decision but none the less still continued to serve it's amazing pizza, I don't know what it is about this pizza but you just have to put on some parm and peppers, it's a requirement, I never put parm and peppers on pizza, ever, but here I do, it's like an old married couple, the pizza and parm just can't get enough of each other. Honestly I forgot about this place, or, just never considered it when deciding on where to eat for pizza, until one day, I was tired of the same old same old, because Helena has a lot of that, not very many choices. I googled pizza in Helena and somewhere in the middle of my search I noticed village inn. It started with me ordering pizza to-go, we got it a couple times and the kids loved it. This last time, we read news of godfathers pizza closing it's doors for good, another long standing pizza place in Helena that used to be known as a kid party spot, so we thought we would try their taco pizza one last time and of course the news of their closing we were expecting it to be fairly busy. 4 cars in the parking lot, we walked in, there were 2 people in front of us, no one was sitting down and I noticed a couple of unbussed tables, the man behind the counter says real loud, has anyone not ordered yet, I raised my hand, he said it will be 1.5 hour wait. I said, oh, you don't want us here, got it. We went straight to village inn, parked right in front, they welcomed us with open arms, fed us quickly, we had a nice big booth and watched some preseason football. When people are hungry, they want to be fed, I highly recommend checking out this straight up Montana restaurant and casino and bring your kids!
Side note, I think a lot of worker frustrations come to light when they have to deal with rude customers, self righteous customers, I've personally witnessed a lot of rude customers at restaurants, especially in recent years. As a counter to that, we bussed our own table and we tipped well, I'm trying to teach my kids how to be polite and helpful. I'm hoping more people will recognize that people working in restaurants don't get paid well and deserve respect. I'm guessing workers at village inn get treated better by their employer than the employees get treated at godfathers, it was a...
Read moreI used to work here. I absolutely loved dax. And the $1 pizzas were to die for, however, today was the worst customer service I have ever had in a casino. The lady, that I've never met before, decided she had a huge issue with me from the get-go. She walked by me twice before I asked if I could get a pizza. She then informed me that I must play 25 cents to get anything. She then told me three other times that I needed to bet a minimum of 25 cents. I informed her three times that I do not bet less than $25 almost ever. Without even being prompted I had things happen such as her throwing her arms up at me asking for some information. I will not be back to this establishment!!!! I don't think this lady belongs in customer service whatsoever, especially one where you have to deal with people so much. When I won the wheel spin she then gave me attitude because I didn't know at which time to spin the wheel, because she walked away and didn't say anything to me. I seriously will never come back to village inn. This sucks because this place is a staple here in Helena and I believe it will hurt in regards to the way she treats your guess. It's already breathy and lengthy so I'll let it be at that...
Read moreLooked up pizza places near me and this place came up first, perhaps due to its close vicinity to my hotel. I walked in not sure what to expect as the description said there is also video gambling machine ( Montana staple) To order, walk up to the counter and you will find a two sided laminated menu off to the right side. After looking the menu over I chose the dinner salad which was(iceberg lettuce, slivers of red cabbage, topped with shredded mozzarella, and black olives. (Oh and the rolled up salami) I was asked what kind of dressing I’d like and I chose ranch. The salad was brought to my table about 5 minutes after I sat down. The salad dressing, sunflower seeds and croutons came singly in small containers. I have no complaints about the salad. The small pizza came next-I ordered the Village Inn Pizza special- small and I enjoyed each bite. I would recommend this establishment, the customer service could be improved a bit. I had water with my meal and was brought a plastic cup and then I had to figure out where to fill it up. I spent...
