Update 5/27/24: Changed from rating 3 stars to 1 star. Been coming here semi-regularly for the past few months. Haven't seen the irritating server discussed below, BUT!!!
Restaurant opens at 10am. Arrived today at 10:10am. There was only ONE item in the steam trays. I asked for Jalapeno Chicken. Server told me 15 minutes. I asked if they could make Jalapeno Chicken faster since I was waiting. Server said No. I asked about egg rolls. Server said 5 minutes.
I verified that they open at 10am. Server said yes. I asked why they didn't have everything available when they open. Server told me that this is how it's done. I said that for normal businesses, everything is ready and available when the shop opens. Server said that was not how business is run.
I paid for 2 egg rolls. At 10:28, still no egg rolls. I asked again. Egg rolls appeared from kitchen. Half the steam trays were still empty and although it had been more than 15 minutes, still no Jalapeno Chicken.
Instead of apologizing for not having expected items available, server made a nasty face as she slammed my egg rolls into the bag and pointedly refused to say thank you when she handed my order to me.
Last straw! I WILL NOT return again. I don't need to be treated as if I'M the problem when half the normal items are not available 30 minutes after opening and no effort is made by staff to apologize or to accommodate reasonable requests.
1st time here. Place is clean enough, large selection at steam tables, mostly deep fried. The menu board is incomplete. I only wanted one item and couldn't find prices for single items on the menu board so I asked "how much is one item" as I pointed to some noodles. Server pointed to the combo plates on the menu board. I explained again that I only wanted one item.
Server said "large or small" and pointed to some containers. I asked for prices. Server said "large or small". I said "large". She gave me the price for the large container. I then had to ask what the price was for the small container.
As I was checking out, I noticed the egg rolls and asked the price. Server said "chicken or vegetable". I said "what's the price?" Server repeated "chicken or vegetable". I said "chicken". She gave me the price for chicken egg rolls. Then I asked what was the price for the vegetable rolls. Server then gave me the price for the veg egg rolls.
Geez!!! Why not just give me the prices for the various choices in a single answer? I don't think I should have to ask a specific question for each option to find out the prices, especially when those items are not listed on the menu board.
Despite my irritation with the server, I thought the food was better than the other Chinese restaurants I've tried in the area. The prices were very reasonable too, so I'll probably return. Hopefully the server will get some coaching about how to answer customer questions, or I'll come on a day when there's a server who's willing to fully...
Read moreI want everyone to notice that the owners of this store raised the price for their Combo A lunch, a one-item meal that previously cost $8.29, which is what is currently advertised in their window, to $8.99. When I pointed this out to the server, he said something in barely audible almost-English, but he didn't tell me that it would be fixed. This is false advertising, bait and switch, posting a lower price, then charging a higher one in the store. Shameful, and also illegal, and they should know better.
Owners are cheap, rude, and serve only passable food. Nothing they serve is especially delicious or enjoyable, just edible food. They stopped giving Sri Racha hot sauce packets and now give out a weak, watery imitation full of vinegar, which does not belong on Chinese food. If you want real Sri Racha style hot sauce, you have to pay 25 cents for a small container of it.
This is cheap penny-pinching, and it shows no goodwill to customers, especially since they act like the customer should be grateful that their privileged to order food from this restaurant.
There are better places in Hemet to go for Chinese food, and I suggest you take your...
Read moreI’ve been going here for MANY years. This is the first time I’ve gotten so little food when ordering a C. It’s not just now either, the quantity has consistently gone down every time I’ve ordered from them in the past year unless there happened to be a particularly cheerful worker that day. The employee today obviously didn’t want to be there.
The chow mein goes under the entrees so there’s even less than you think. Their side boxes for the c combo are now smaller than they used to be by a good amount and they didn’t even fill it all the way. These guys used to never fill the box like this and I would always rave about how they stuffed the box more than Mr You.
I’m so disappointed because the first thing I do when a new person comes to Hemet is recommend them. If I’m having a friend over that’s never tried them I buy them a plate every time. For birthdays we buy two family packs. Thankfully I can say the quality hasn’t gone down, but I really hope today was a particular fluke because there was just so...
