I come here 2, maybe 3 times a week for breakfast and there's a couple good reasons for that: pertaining to this specific Denny's, on route 30 in Greensburg (sits across the street from Big Lots), their service is absolutely incredible and their food is delicious.
Their servers, especially Nancy, are so nice, pleasant and easy to talk to. And they're always routinely (but not over the top routinely but rather at the right times) checking on your food and drinks. Just the perfect and ideal servers.
In regards to their food, I've never been let down here. I know it's just a Denny's and just a diner, but that shouldn't negate how good their food is. And it's always ready so quickly. Honestly, when dine-in service is faster than waiting in a drive thru line to a FAST food joint, and your ordered food not only tastes incredibly good but is also very warm (as if it just came off the stove), you know you're at a place that's doing something (realistically it'd be"multiple") things right. But really, their food is so consistently good that I even tipped the cook the other day because of how good my Grand Slam breakfast was.
So again, all that said, this is probably one of the best diners (if not the best) in the Pittsburgh area. This place has the best Denny's food I've ever had and hands down the BEST core of servers.

Stopped in again this morning and once again, I wasn't let down. The food was served to me very quickly (I had 3 scrambled eggs and 2 pancakes) and it was all utterly delicious.
But another note worth mentioning is how polite, attentive and genuinely sweet my waitress was. Her name is Leah. I was only able to give her a $4 tip on my bill....but I wish I could have left a little more. I mean, if I had the cash, I would have left her a $10 tip and I say that because you, the readers, should take honest notice of how well employed this specific Denny's is.
But really, Leah just reminded me of how this place, top to bottom, is probably one of the best diners in Pittsburgh. And I emphatically stand behind every...
Read moreAccidentally walked into this location 10 minutes early and didn’t realize it since the door was unlocked. Our server let us know, I apologized and offered to leave, and was told that it was fine. Less than two minutes later I hear the cook screaming at this poor girl over something that’s not her fault, and I know for a fact he knew we could hear him. I got my purse out of my car so I could pay her for a coffee and hot chocolate. As I returned to the table to retrieve the person with me, she says he is finally ready to cook and I explain to her that I heard everything he said loud and clear and that I am uncomfortable and was going to pay her and leave. She did not charge us for the drinks. I am a server myself, so I already was in her shoes when I told her I would leave upon finding out the hours. I really wasn’t expecting a cook to act so out of line over 10 minutes. Another table came in as I was getting my keys and I let them know since they were 5 minutes early they were going to be treated like they broke in, essentially. I hope they received much better treatment than my disabled friend and I did. Not to mention, I was told by my friend when I went to get my keys that he was getting glared at during my absence. I understand the holidays are hard on everyone, but either you refuse service or you don’t start cooking until opening. Thats the trashiest thing I’ve seen at...
Read moreThis Denny's is fantastic.
I have a memory of Denny's as a kid being a kind of low-brow restaurant, on par with Waffle House and below other breakfast chains like IHOP and Perkin's. I don't know if that was ever true, but my meal this morning at Denny's will make me come back.
I arrived at about 7am and was cheerily greeted by Nancy, who would ultimately be my server. She immediately made me feel comfortable. She clearly has a lot of serving experience and is an excellent waitress. She was very attentive to the table, kept the coffee hot, and just hearing her seating customers and taking orders in her own unique, pleasant way made my coffee taste a little better.
As things got busy as the morning progressed, she was running around the restaurant constantly serving tables. It was impressive how she could manage to provide such great service to this many customers for so long.
The food (cooked by Dave) was amazing. Mile High omelette really is packed with content! Extras are only .99 cents each, which is low compared to our local Bob Evan's and other breakfast places. This Denny's gives the customer that diner feel while still having a reliable menu. I'll be back, and I...
