Read moreWe were visiting from out of the state and after eating out at all the fancy restaurants in Vegas, we decided to try something different. We were hoping to find some good old homemade flavor so we came here during the week, just a couple of days ago. And it was definitely not what we were hoping for. While most of the staff was great and the price was perhaps somewhat reasonable. It was an awkward feeling to the so called "buffet." You pay for a buffet but if you want their Cafe de la Hoya or agua de orchata, you must pay an additional $5.99 with NO refills. That blew my mind to charge so much for drinks that contain mainly water. The entire situation with some of the girls standing around with their arms crossed just watching you while you're at the food bar was uncomfortable. The younger food server also didn't seem like the nicest. It felt like we were asking her for a favor every time we wanted something. It was almost like we were being judged and we were just on our very first plate. The servings were pretty small. Overall this is definitely not what a buffet should like. There was an older server and she was definitely nicer and more welcoming. Moving on to the food. Many of the plates such as the rice and the chilaquiles were tasteless, very dried and they seem like they were somewhat old. In general the food tasted like a grocery store precooked food. Hint hints. Keeping your food with a cover and adding more juce, salsa will maintain them way more flavorful, tenter and with moist. Only a couple of the dishes were good such as the rajas and the pozole. The deserts were actually not bad but they only have a very few options. Some of the dishes like the desert don't have a name so you have no idea what they are. I am a business owner myself and many members of my family manage and own business and restaurants. So I'm a firm believer that good criticism and a good honest opionion review can really help someone and / or a business. And we must give credit when credit is due. And quite honestly I truly wish this place makes the necessary adjustments and continues to grow. And honestly, I hope that my review doesn't sound like I'm being rude or unreasonable. But I think this place deserves an honest opinion and maybe perhaps the benefit of the doubt. But for now... To us this is not a real or typical buffet. The food we can definitely say that it did not taste and or felt like a authentic Mexican food. The quality was definitely not there. Most of the staff you can really tell that they're really trying to offer good customer service except for the younger food server. I think the setting and their logic crashes with what of a real buffet restaurant should be. One of the biggest secrets in the restaurant business practiced by big successful chains, is consistency and efficiency. And having a good consistent system and being able to make the very same dish 30 different times and been able to make it taste good and the same exact...
Read moreOverpriced, cheap food, way too crammed, uncomfortable seating, overall bad experience. I show up for brunch pay $56 for two, get seated and notice my table still has food and crumbs from the previous person that was seated there ask for the waitress to clean that up for me now to sit down as I do I sink right into the booths seating, not the best start but let's get drinks started and ask about beverage options to our waitress ask for a bottled coke get told that will be an additional $5 , I say never mind let me get a Jarrito again get told that will be $5, I say never mind again ask for a coffee again that will be $5. I smell champurado ask about that, again $5... Until I just ask for a fountain coke and surprisingly that wasn't an additional cost. I get it these are bottled beverages that have a cost tied to them where people can abuse the free refill's but $5 for each soda? Seems a bit much especially when you're already paying $27 a person. But for a coffee or a champurado $5? Come on.... Off to a bad start, time to go get food at first glance food looks delicious like your typical Mexican food but after making a thorough pass I notice it's all cheap carb dense fillers, so rice, beans, sopes with chicharones, tamales of red pork, or rajas breakfast potato's the only real meat provided that I saw was in the pozole, bacon, chicharones en salsa verde and chicken nuggets.... For $27 a person my only meat option I'm limited to is pork and chicken nuggets??? I look past that and give the food a try regardless, sopes tasted sour and like crepes, tamales tasted like cheap tamales you can buy in bulk from smiths, Chicharones en salsa verde tasted sour. At this point i'm over it and just order one more cup of soda. Good job to your social media influencers and promoters for making this place seem like a Vegas hidden gem but I am honestly super disappointed with the experience I had here. I will never be returning...
