Chile Caliente: A Fiery Fiesta of Flavor (with real sugar soda!)
If you're looking for a taste of Mexican heat that won't burn your taste buds to the ground, Chile Caliente Restaurante & Bar is the place to be. This hidden gem in Phoenix serves up authentic dishes with a kick, all in a fun and festive atmosphere.
Spice Up Your Life:
From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a south-of-the-border oasis. The walls are adorned with colorful murals, and the air is filled with the tempting aroma of chiles and spices. The friendly staff is always happy to recommend something off the menu, and they're always up for a chat.
Food & Drinks:
I started my meal with a refreshing agua fresca, made with real sugar (a rarity these days!). It was the perfect way to cool down on a hot day. For my main course, I went for the [al pastor tacos], and they were incredible. The pork was marinated to perfection, and the pineapple added a touch of sweetness to balance out the heat. I also tried a bite of my friend's [carne asada burrito], and it was equally delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the tortilla was perfectly crispy.
A Word of Warning:
If you're not a fan of spicy food, be forewarned: Chile Caliente's dishes definitely pack a punch. But for those who love a little heat, it's just right. The spiciness is there to tantalize your taste buds, not to melt your face off. I found myself sweating a little, but it was the good kind of sweat, the kind that comes from eating something truly delicious.
Final Verdict:
Chile Caliente is a great place to experience authentic Mexican food in Phoenix. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is fun, and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend checking it out, especially if you're looking for a casual spot with a kick.

We ordered the carne asada plate, Shrimp cocktail, fried filet, carne asada fries & platter of oysters.
We were hesitant about coming here...since the Mojarra loca is usually a 2 hr wait time on holidays we decided to give it a try since 0 wait time - that itself was weird.
The server was awkward had no CS experience. 🚩 He didn't really care and kept looking somewhere else when we were ordering our drinks... also was having a hard time adding it to the device he was holding.
-Carne asada plate was missing the chorizo advertised on their menu, meat had a so so good flavor, the rice was not good and the beans tasted like canned beans. the shrimp cocktail was made with the bagged shrimp from the store ❌❌ big NO, (taste like plastic shrimp) Not the Mexican style they advertise to be. I feel bad for my husband that's what he got for Fathers Day 😞 carne asada fries - the fries looked super greasy and dirty. A lot of left overs and had stomachache afterwards fried filet plate - fish was ok but had stomachache afterwards as well
The food was definitely over priced we payed less for better tasting food and better service. We are very happy to spend our money on food as long as it's good food this was definitely a bust for us. We 110% prefer Mojarra Loca for plates like these Similar concept but food, service & price is way better.
*We appreciate the ladies working here they were kind when they were cleaning around and asking over and over if we needed anything else since we waited for a spoon for more than 5 min. Couldn't...
