Chile Caliente: A Fiery Fiesta of Flavor (with real sugar soda!)

If you're looking for a taste of Mexican heat that won't burn your taste buds to the ground, Chile Caliente Restaurante & Bar is the place to be. This hidden gem in Phoenix serves up authentic dishes with a kick, all in a fun and festive atmosphere.

Spice Up Your Life:

From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a south-of-the-border oasis. The walls are adorned with colorful murals, and the air is filled with the tempting aroma of chiles and spices. The friendly staff is always happy to recommend something off the menu, and they're always up for a chat.

Food & Drinks:

I started my meal with a refreshing agua fresca, made with real sugar (a rarity these days!). It was the perfect way to cool down on a hot day. For my main course, I went for the [al pastor tacos], and they were incredible. The pork was marinated to perfection, and the pineapple added a touch of sweetness to balance out the heat. I also tried a bite of my friend's [carne asada burrito], and it was equally delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the tortilla was perfectly crispy.

A Word of Warning:

If you're not a fan of spicy food, be forewarned: Chile Caliente's dishes definitely pack a punch. But for those who love a little heat, it's just right. The spiciness is there to tantalize your taste buds, not to melt your face off. I found myself sweating a little, but it was the good kind of sweat, the kind that comes from eating something truly delicious.

Final Verdict:

Chile Caliente is a great place to experience authentic Mexican food in Phoenix. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is fun, and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend checking it out, especially if you're looking for a casual spot with a kick.

Not what I expected based on the pictures on the website/menu.

We ordered the carne asada plate, Shrimp cocktail, fried filet, carne asada fries & platter of oysters.

We were hesitant about coming here...since the Mojarra loca is usually a 2 hr wait time on holidays we decided to give it a try since 0 wait time - that itself was weird.

The server was awkward had no CS experience. 🚩 He didn't really care and kept looking somewhere else when we were ordering our drinks... also was having a hard time adding it to the device he was holding.

-Carne asada plate was missing the chorizo advertised on their menu, meat had a so so good flavor, the rice was not good and the beans tasted like canned beans. the shrimp cocktail was made with the bagged shrimp from the store ❌❌ big NO, (taste like plastic shrimp) Not the Mexican style they advertise to be. I feel bad for my husband that's what he got for Fathers Day 😞 carne asada fries - the fries looked super greasy and dirty. A lot of left overs and had stomachache afterwards fried filet plate - fish was ok but had stomachache afterwards as well

The food was definitely over priced we payed less for better tasting food and better service. We are very happy to spend our money on food as long as it's good food this was definitely a bust for us. We 110% prefer Mojarra Loca for plates like these Similar concept but food, service & price is way better.

*We appreciate the ladies working here they were kind when they were cleaning around and asking over and over if we needed anything else since we waited for a spoon for more than 5 min. Couldn't...

I recently had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant for the first time with a friend, and I must say, the overall experience exceeded my expectations. From the food to the service and the ambiance, everything was exceptional.

Firstly, let's talk about the food. The menu offered an extensive range of flavorsome Mexican specialties that catered to all tastes. We started with a traditional chips and salsa dip, which had the perfect balance of freshness and spiciness. We asked for the special, (chilaquiles with meat 2x1) Both dishes were bursting with authentic flavors and were prepared with great attention to detail. The portion sizes were generous, leaving us truly satisfied.

Moving on to the service, the staff at the restaurant were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They promptly took our orders and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. It was evident that they genuinely cared about providing a pleasant dining experience.

Additionally, the ambiance of the restaurant was remarkable. The decoration was tastefully done, with vibrant colors and Mexican-themed elements that added to the overall atmosphere. The cozy seating arrangements allowed for an intimate dining experience, perfect for catching up with a friend.

In conclusion, my visit to this Mexican restaurant was a remarkable experience. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the ambiance was just right. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine and a memorable...

Okay seriously probably 1/2 of the absolute best tacos I’ve had since I left my dear old Salinas, California. I actually had to go back the same day and take my older brother visiting from the Bay Area. We grabbed two tacos for my 79 year old Mother to go so she could try them. All of us agreed. They are very delicious. Generous with the meat and grilled to perfection. I ordered steak and fish. I only have one suggestion-I do not like my fish tacos breaded. I prefer them grilled. They were not overly breaded so it still garners 5 stars. Last, I ordered the medium shrimp coctel (ceviche or cocktail). This was expertly prepared down to the chop. Thank goodness I didn’t even have to request saltines! The mole is spicy. So be careful and use sparingly. The service is fast and friendly. They clean constantly and rotate folks in and out. I didn’t order drinks but I saw so many folks enjoying beautifully presented cocktails plus there is a full bar. Plenty of tequilas and look at the pictures there is a happy hour menu. You cannot go wrong. My son ordered the carne asada fries. It was ridiculous. Amazing. Pictured! Worth the cost. I was afraid he would be hungry. The meat was high quality and tender & well seasoned. They have it all right. It was crowded all Sunday evening. Best kept secret 🤫!❤️🙏

So we were leaving the Las vegas strip, and my friend was craving menudo. I checked in the 30-minute radius of who served it and who had good ratings on maps. I saw that Chile Caliente Restaurante & Bar had good reviews and had good quality videos and photos on Instagram, So I called and asked if they served menudo on Tuesday the lady on the phone said yes and we went there immediately.  Now, when you get there theirs two entrances ones the bar area, and the other way is more of the correct way. lol the correct way would be where the red jalapeno statue is at. Nevertheless, the waitress Karen took us to the table . We ordered 2 menudos and 4 tacos with a beer and coke and water with an appetizer of chips and salsa, and it came with beans as well. I will say they have different salsa, so make sure to clarify what kind you want cause I got one, and I didn't think it was hot until 5 seconds later. Luckily, I had soda  lol. But overall the menudo and tacos and atmosphere was good busy even on a Tuesday. Will surely make this our menudo spot next time we are down this way.
