The TRUTH about this Don Tortaco... First, this location is convenient to my home. I have crews working, so I feed them on occasion. Food has always been decent, but the counter service and "owner's rules" leave much skepticism. A few days ago, I ordered my meal accompanied by a $4 bottle of Coke. The bottle was not particularly cold, so I asked for a cup with ice for my bottled soda. I received a tiny water cup. When I asked for a full size cup to a company my $4 Coke, I was told no. A couple of days later I went in and asked to speak to the manager. She was sweet and professional, but said they do not give cups to customers when they purchase a bottle of Coke. She did say she would try to have some additional larger cups on hand that were not counted in the inventory by the owners. Satisfied, I ordered food. The very next day, my crew wanted tacos. So I went back to DT and got nine tacos. My guys and I typically use two of those tiny sauce containers off the salsa bar per taco. Simple math would it indicate I would have to fill 18 of the tiny sauce containers. In order to reduce plastic, keep the bar clean, and expedite my visit, I asked for a slightly larger container. I was denied. Then, the counter attendant said you must use the small sauce containers on the bar. I told her it would require 18 of those to satisfy me and my crew and that hardly seemed practical. She then proceeded to walk out to the bar and start filling the small containers as if to make a point. Witnesses in the dining room agreed with me how ridiculous this seemed. I implore the owners to justify 18 small containers of sauce and the time and mess of filling them, versus one container and a happy customer. If it is the intent of the owners of this franchise to put their employees in a position of fear for their jobs over the value of a single cup, shame on you. I welcome any reply and would consider a meeting in person at this location so I may try to understand the logic, or lack thereof, of such...
Read moreI would've given zero stars if I could've. Not only did the food lack flavor, it was cold! The customer service, oh wait, there was none! Just a day ago I made the mistake of eating here. Recieved my order, but it was incorrect. Took the food back and I was told I was in the wrong, and I'm quoting word for word, "because I repeated your order and you said ok at the end." Yes, the food clerk said that to me. My response was that I said ok in agreement to pay. Which by the way there was no money difference between the #2 and the #7, had there been then I would've noticed and corrected my order PRIOR to payment. I ordered two beef tacos but recieved a number 2 order which is a taco and cheese enchilada. I let it go thinking there was communication error due to language differences but the attendant had no broken English when she chose to tell me I was wrong! I told her I didn't want to argue with her over whose wrong or correct that I just want my order changed. She was in the middle of telling me she wasn't going to change my order, that I could pay for a new order when her manager walked up and said it wasn't a problem to change my order. I then asked the manager how she felt about her employee treating customers like that and suddenly the manager says, "no habla....." I said, "oh, ok I see. Ok well since you said my order can be changed let's do that and I will make sure to leave a review when I finish my meal." I will not frequent this poor excuse of a restaurant ever again. Even if the customer service were just ok, I would hope they try better to have their foods at a safe temperature so others patronizing this crumb hole don't get diarrhea or high fever. No I would not recommend this...
Read moreTheir drive thru speaker needs to be fixed. It sounds muzzled and it's difficult to UNDERSTAND. Not difficult to hear, just difficult to understand. I told the teller I was unable to understand her and she yelled through the speaker. I just continued to order without understanding because I asked her what was in the breakfast burrito. I learned after taking a bite into it that it comes with egg, mashed potato (or maybe hash brown?), cheese, and sausage; I was hoping for beans :(. The tortilla has no flavor, very bland, and no salt. Same does for the potato and egg, the sausage however, had a lot of delicious flavor. I ordered fries on the side bc I didn't know it came with potato. I asked for them crispy but they didn't give me crispy. They also didn't give me any ketchup. They asked me if I wanted sauce but didn't ask if I wanted red or green preference so they gave me 2 of each. I don't like DonTortaco. I've been here 3 other times and I didn't like it. So today I actually rated and reviewed them. The reason they get a 2 star is bc the sausage was delicious and the fries were flavourful (even though they...
