Overall: 3.7/5 (dine in)
Manila BBQ & Seafood Grill looks like a family owned business. They have a section where you can choose which skewers you like then they will cook it for you. If you don't want skewers, they have a regular menu as well. The lady who helped us was really nice, and the food came out pretty fast.
PSD Big Assorted Kakanin ($10.50): There are 4 rows of different desserts which were all good and not too sweet.
BBQ Combo ($7.99): They have a variety of combo plates that you can choose from. We got the BBQ pork combo plate which comes with 1 BBQ pork skewer, 3 tiny lumpias, and pancit noodles. It looks exactly like the picture so you know what you're getting. This plate was good and better than the chicken inasal for me. The pork was tender, the lumpia was very crispy + tasty, and the pancit noodle was surprisingly soft. Recommend getting this plate if you come here.
Chicken Inasal Special Promo ($4.49): This is like the Filipino version of Vietnamese ga roti. My husband loved it. I didn't get to taste the skin but just the chicken meat which I thought was okay but it's also probably because I didn't dip it in the sauce. The only thing missing was the garlic topping on the rice. However, for the price, it's a steal. The portion size was good too!
Siomai Skewer ($2.50): Skip. The filling combo just...
Read moreI finally found a place for Filipino food that's close to the house. They're a new restaurant and already they're operating well..I'm a fan!
Manila service: It took about 10 minutes to get my #1 combo (chicken bbq sticks) after ordering. All the staff I came across were so friendly and gave a great vibe. Happy eating time at Manila BBQ.
Manila cuisine: My chicken bbq sticks were very tasty. The sauce was savory and it paired well with the red rice and potato salad. The combo meals are served in a Styrofoam container with a lid which makes it convenient to bring food home. The cashier area has lined with lots of yummy Filipino dessert delicacies already wrapped to go for you. I see what you did there, excellent. =)
Manila ambiance: A casual open dining area that's very clean with mobile tables in case you need to push them together for a larger group. The posted menu showcases the combos and prices clearly to make ordering easy.
If you're familiar with Teriyaki madness, this is the flavorful Filipino version of that for me. The food is tasty, they pack it ready to go (I'm always on the go) and their price point is similar if not cheaper than Panda Express. The Filipino desserts offered is icing on the cake. I'm looking forward to trying more combo dishes but that's another...
Read moreFirst time here.
It seems like this restaurant is a bit all over the place. I am not sure if they are trying to be an event venue, a small store, or a restaurant. When you first walk in, the first thing you see are things for sale to go such as small pastry items, drinks, and snacks. Initially thought I walked into the wrong place.
On the right, you then see some tables and a small stage where it looks like they do open mics or host small bands. On the left you see more tables but then a bunch of boxes stacked. Their dining floor seems like a storage room as well. Then there are a couple claw machines with small prizes. Just explaining this in detail so someone knows what to expect.
Apart from the atmosphere, the food was good. Prices seemed fair for portions given. The dine-in menu was fairly small which is no problem but it looks like they focus most of their menu for catering.
Aside from all the confusing aspects, the service was great. Very friendly...
